Bush could have nipped the problem in the bud years ago but he chose to ignore NK until it comes to boiling point now.

For Iraq - no problem there, he go and create problem
For NK - got problem there, he go and ignore

Yup! Uncle Kim is trying to push the limits to what he can do. Bloody attention seeker.

Mr. Bush is too busy solving the mess in Iraq to bother about North Korea Maybe he doesn't care? Because NK has no oil for the US.

the reason n.korea is goingfor the 2nd test is due to the failure of the 1st test in generating enough fear among the nations to up its bargain stake with the USA. N.Korea's leaders really deserve to get exterminated for doing stuffs like that..

I think a second test will have little effect on the markets. The reason for a 2nd test is that the first test was a failure. So N. Korea may not be fully nuclear capable after all.

Asian stocks slipped into the red on Tuesday on profit-taking, rising oil prices and fears North Korea might be preparing for a second nuclear test.

South Korea's government said it was aware of signs North Korea might be getting ready for another nuclear test. U.S. television networks earlier reported that U.S. spy satellites had detected suspicious vehicle activity and personnel movements near the site of last week's test.

A second test could knock equities for several days. While stocks largely shrugged North Korea's previous nuclear test, it would be harder for investors to overlook a second such test.

Between 2000 and 2005, only October 2005 ended the month in the red. If this can be seen as a trend, the chance of October 2006 ended in the red should be low.

I think next week could see STI new high and also end of STI rally! I believe STI will take a breather before running again to new highs next year. Markets also need to rest, why bcos people who manage funds needs to rest and people like you and me will probably take a rest come Nov/December!!
