White House disappointed Snowden granted asylum

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The White House is " extremely disappointed" that Russia has granted temporary asylum to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, spokesman Jay Carney said on Thursday.

Carney said the White House was " examining the utility" of a planned summit between Presidents Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin in Moscow in September. " This is not a positive development," Carney said. Obama was planning to stop in Moscow during a trip to the G-20 leaders summit in St. Petersburg in early September.Russia has granted Snowden asylum for a year.

Carney said the U.S. would continue to insist to Russian authorities that Snowden be returned to the U.S. where he is under indictment on three felony charges for leaking classified information.

Haha I know where you are coming from. Below is just an analogy. But I don't agree completely with what you said. It has to do with one's time horizon also. But at times, cutting loss can be important. It really has to depend on the situation. Haha, cheers!!

I have always invested in stocks with the philosophy of treating stocks like your loved partner, long-term and never leaving your " partner" during ups and downs, unless the fundamentals of the relationship have really changed. But lately, I realize in a relationship, is at times better to give some personal space and freedom to your partner when during bad times, for he/she feels better during this period being left alone, which I call the " cool down" period, so that he/she have enough time and space to deal with and sort out his/her own personal problems. Holding on tight and showing excessive concern during this period may only cause unnecessary stress and unhappiness to your partner, and also yourself.

" Absence makes the heart grow fonder" . When one day, he/she has resolved his/her fundamental and personal problems and is ready to start all over again, we can always engage back in the relationship with even more love than before, bringing the relationship to an even greater level. Perhaps sometimes in this way, a relationship can be more long-term, with more sweetness and happiness..

I once mentioned before that I seldom cut loss, but lately from Vard and Hiap Tong, I realise I could have locked profits or cut loss when strong price support levels have been broken and did not rise back the next day. One can always buy them back again when prices have stabilized. Not that I have not thought about this all along, but sometimes, we are worried about opportunity loss when the counter rise back higher. Then again, I have never expected the plunge, especially for Vard to be so big. Cutting loss in this case would have really been smarter..  The good thing is that now Vard has stabilized.
Just sharing some thoughts and not trying to influence anything. Everyone is different and have different ways of handling relationships. May everyone's relationships be sweet and fruitful, whether in real life or with stocks. Have a great weekend!!
