If MBS has lower rolling volume from high-rollers, RWS will be more be badly affected based on what I see on my visits to the high action private gaming rooms.
Even on Friday and Saturday nights most high-stake tables are empty.

and more singaporean are gambling in the casinos losing their very
hard earned wages. Anybody has the statistics of singaporeans gambling

yesterday's buyers become today's sellers..
today's buyers might become tmr's sellers
that's how the counter drop.. though a lot of ppl like to blame shorters..
just imagine if only 2 players (u being the buyer VS another shorter).. the shorter sold first waiting to buy back.. if u refuse to sell at lower level, u think the price can drop? :)

The casino gaming industry is declining and unsustainable......
Sob. sob. Just give punters any excuse to short this counter. Only the BB's can save Genting SP now-- when they're done betting against the Euro to start rechanneling their moolahs back in the market. Any idea when the next announcement from Genting is due?

when this counter falls there r always speculators entering at various price level thinking tat they can outsmart the mkt, then when it falls further they use a technique called averaging down lol
then they keep AD till they r dried up n when qe3 announces everyone chiong however such deep driven counters take long times to raise becos too many ppl got tied up. These ppl will try to off load once they profit little n move to chiong counters.

Genting SP / Las Vegas Sands: LVS last night reported earnings that fell 34% and missed estimates. In particular, MBS delivered US$330.4m in adjusted EBITDA, -18.5% yoy. EBITDA margins fell to 47.6% from 55.0% yoy. This came on the back of lower rolling volume, low hold on rolling table games play and higher provisions for accounts receivable. Investors will likely be concerned if GENS would experience the same trend this quarter. GENS reports 2Q12 results after market on 10 Aug. Also, Nomura reiterates its Reduce call, with TP $1.42. Says there is too much unknown in the upcoming 2Q earnings. Cautions on the sizable amount of bad debts to be written off on top of the weaker VIP and mass market segments. Adds, regulatory risks will likely persist till 2015 elections, as the govt is mindful of the ill effects of casino gambling on the public (voters). Believes over the longer-term, a complete overhaul of the low gaming tax structure could not be discounted. Hypothesises the potential abolishment of the $2000 annual pass to discourage addiction/ frequent visitors. Its sensitivity analysis suggests that a 50% decline in the mass market business (non-rolling chip and slots) could slash 2013’s earnings by 53% and its TP by 40% to $0.85/sh. GENS continues to slide to new 52 wk lows, at $1.27, -1.2%.
Nothing could stop the downtrend if these two indicators are negative .

On the contrary, often it is analysis which causes a person to lose his/her shirt...
It is precisely because of the persons analysis (often sub-consciously biased)
which causes a person to stick to his/her opinion of a stock, in spite of losses.
But the stark reality is, no matter how profound the analysis,
no one can predict the next outcome...

Anyway, back to Genting.. Seems like today early morning it already open gap down. Thus got to wait to re-enter again. Well, these are analysis..so you won't get burnt in the stock market.
