These dialogues are highly enriching for anyone serious about life (and not just living).
We need not be scientists to want to know more about life itself.
But if we are not scientists yet, then... why not?
Ultimately, there will be no such things as 'scientists', but people who love to be intelligently knowledgeable...
can't help this ...

bukit batok HDB owner went for Msia for 3 days and shock to see his main door opened slightly. That was a break-in when the family were not around. Today Zaobao.
How to avoid that? Install alarm system as public commented, CCTV could be another option( of course u can install one dumy one lah). The other thing is that, when you are away, cease the subscription of papers, if not tell your neighbour to collect the paper for you daily.
Best try this, use a whiteboard marker to write this on the front door, " owe $ pay $, will come anytime to deal with anyone in the house, call 9xxxxxxx(your hp lah). pse prompt your neighbours loh.

BTW, I remember some people wrote to FORUM about this in the past though don't remember seeing any replies.
Which brings me back to the initial purpose of my posting -- how do people handle this kind of problem esp when the whole family is travelling?
Slipping things through the gate not considered private property meh???
Next time when nature call, can just walk into any stranger's flat???
Not everybody has good guni -- some are real picky and perhaps even more....
Anybody wants to come -- feel free to pick up stones and build houses?

Baseer... :)
If everyone starts doing that, very soon there will be not much stones left...
Oldsters may remember a certain Tengku(?) who referred to something like that
but in a different context.
yah, who move my cheese loh!!
Gov at the other side allowing gov servants to do moonlighting. Here got new lobang leow?? As here, most divorcees and singles always miss their credit card payments. 24% interest rate, very high. AK think, helping this groups of people may be a good idea and good revenue for $. No venture no gain, but risky.
that's a novel way of looking at things .... hahaha !
..... " build a house using the stones they throw at you " ...
: )
the catch is that HDB is belong to government, unlike the private condos and bungalows. thus you will not likely to see peoples throwing rubbish at those private areas. However, you can bring up your concern to MOE, if you are staying at HDB.
BTW, all this paper rubbish is money. u can sell them together with your home newspaper to galang guni. thus my letter box is wide open for rubbish.

Speaking of travelling, what do families do w/ all those junk fliers left at the door step?
Why should I get others to pick them up when I didn't request for them in the first place.
Wonder why GREEN controls plastic bags but not junk fliers?
Annoyed about picking up trash that I don't even want! Could just leave them outside but don't seem very neighbourly.

.. and good luck too those who are waiting to gather the 'dropped heavyweight riped fruits' to add to their baskets ..hahaha !
: )
