I'll not be able to audit that. China Minzhong sells to wholesalers and retailers. Hankore sells to mainly provincial government and probably to some industries. One asset is perishables while the other are physical and operational infrastructures. I suppose they can be physically verified and I believe the recent investor will carry out his due diligence before committing close to S$20m to take up significant stake. |

There is no doubt that waste water treatment is a capital intensive industry in multi-year contracts. The profitability is directly dependent on the accounting treatment of its assets and the allowable period for amortization which will then depends on the determination of the useful life of the infrastructure and asset. When David and gang took over Biotreat, they took a painful decision or maybe a wise one on hindsight now to write off significant portion of treatment plants that can't meet the minimum standard and hence not able to generate revenue and they exacerbated the magnitude of the years of losses. Over the years, they have managed to put them back into productive operation and hence able to write back the values of these assets. From accounting point of view, these write backs have the reverse effect of writing off and now they contributed to the top line and bottom line. There may still be some more in their drawer to be able to write back but I doubt they will count on them to boost their bottom line. Not to forget that there have new also upwards revisition of water tariff and in producing higher grade emission standard including sludge treatment. I suppose they should be able to sustain their profit margin and scale of operation plus acquiring the subcontractor will eliminated some of the buffer or stack up and having positive impact to both bottom line and profitability margin.

You said you bought this stock 5 years ago and have been holding it since then. I presume you bought HK at around 3-4 cents then, which is the range at which HK's stock traded for the majority of 2008-09. At that cost, you would have made in excess of 20% profit at current price. On the other hand, this stock rarely moved above my purchase price and I'm still stuck with significant paper losses. So yea, nothing to worry about. I'm in a worse state, but I haven't lost confidence in myself. It is a lesson learnt, plus I believe in this stock's fundamentals, which have been ever improving since the turnaround.

SinoG recovering after shortists met some strong support at the $1 region. Hankore will be next to rebound. And with the release of positive FY13 results tomorrow, the upside will surely prevail. |

The low volume is a good sign. We will have more clarity after the result announcement. Personally, I'm looking for opportunity to load more.

HK already faring a lot better than other s-chips. Look at Sino Grandness.. Down 17% as of writing.. HK isn't even dropping. Our dear Alan Wang probably have his SinoG baby to take care of first. He is probably losing quite a bit of his net worth seeing that he specializes in s-chips. |
