You love Elvis' music ? me too...

Those who  think Elvis is only about rocking...

More little known is the fact that Elvis also recorded  a great many  religious songs and hymnals... :)

Hi burntbadbad,

Sorry to hear that you are new and already burnt bad bad.

If you read more postings in SJ, you will realise that most of us started like you and got burnt. Some got burnt bad bad, some not so bad, few made money.

Terraseeds conduct courses on TA, etc.. They advertise in SJ.

Although you may or may not make money after attending the courses,  at least they teach you to lose not so bad.

Hallo to all forumers, am new and learning from all the qian bei. Just started trading and kena burn bad bad already, really depressed. Reading some of the postings make me laugh and still keeps me sane (only slightly). Just wanted to know where can I learn the ropes for trading so that I can at least recover my capital. Any books, courses to recommend? I attend two talks from SIAS before.

Some lah, especially from the cat king, Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, etc.  You know my whole family loved to watch Lucille Ball's "I love lucy" show on the b/w TV previously.  I don't know if you know this show?

my way of thinking is S$36k a year.True there be up and down in the mkt but here we talk about one year not one week or one month.

If u put in the bank,worst still,give u 2.5%.

Fairygal, disappear after i ask her for the recipe.Wah piang.

Cheers

geojam,

seriously $500k investment in shares with $36k (divvy + capital gain) is quite possible you know.  My $600k investment had been generating about $14k of divvy for me annually for the last 3 years (before that was no good lah because of 911).  So plus those capital gains during the last 6 months, can achieve lah.  But my capital gains had also been wipe out very cham by yesterday's fall.  You know lah, most property stocks drop like hot cakes.  cry cry.

U really make me laugh.hahahah

No i was trying to work backwards when u say that about S$2200 a month for a couple age 55 to have for monthly expenses.

Realistically,S$36,000 a year from S$500k is about 7%,if u buy like singpost u may get like 5% divvy and finger cross(no guarantee)u make some from capital gains.

Sometimes good to have a laugh.

choohian,

I think you had referred to the wrong post.  Anyway, here's the link again:

geojam,

Sorry, cannot read nor write chinese, only conversational pu-ton-hua.  So cannot surf chinese websites leh.  Liak-Bo-Kiu leh.  Someone once told me there could be 1 at "sina.com" but have to pay, you know those MP3 sites from china.  So no point lah.

So it seems you have $500k in shares generating $36k in divvy and capital gains for you annually.  Wah, rich man lah!  Orang kaya leh.  Eh, can my niece qualify to be your god-daughter also?  Then you can co-pay for her HONDA FIT leh.
