I am not sure how DBS as underwriter can be a vote of confidence? Anyone pls enlighten? Thanks.  Think the other banks will gladly take on the project, huge fees for such underwritting assignment. Unless of course, they have to subscribe to a % of it.

Also: this for Robert.

Robert: pardon me for being stupid by your definition. I can't quite catch whether you think Genting will go up or go down. I see conflicting signals from your answers. Can you pls once and for all answer me if you think this will head south or north. "it's quite clear what direction Genting is heading" Unfortunately, it is no clear to me what you mean. Pls enlighten. (and if you don't mind, what's you take for Creative, which again, I fall into the stupid category who could not understand your stand.

So Genting is finally announcing it's right issue but it's issue is very large & massive with 3 rights to 5 shares, that meants a more than 50% of dilution to it's earning per share.
Somehow, I thrust that Genting is a well run gaming company & will not fail those who support them.It will be wise to be patience & buy when it dip to 90 cts & below especially when DBS is the underwriter.
Anyone can give any guidance on whether I should buy to subscribe the rights at 90 cts?
I had already pullout totally since it hit a dollar.
One more question, what happpen to the Super casino bidding inwhich Genting was involve in UK after the House of Lords objected the location.Cheers

Those who are long on Genting just need to stay the course and accumulate like investing unit trusts...

Hahaha! I don't call myself a guru... but it's quite clear what direction Genting is heading. In some times ahead we will be hearing some clowns who will desperately try to cover up their stupidity by saying "oh I am wise enough and brave enough to cut loss on genting, and never mind about losing it's a punt anyway" U know wat I mean.... br...br...br...wahahahaha!!!!!!!

This counter seems to be confusing.

1. Directors had taken their directors fees this year.

2. Directors said it may consider paying dividends to shareholders as they are not making money right now.

3. Issue $450millions convertible bonds with time period of 5yrs which they can convert at any time.

4. Now they are asking shareholders to buy more shares so they can fund the development of the casino-resort and repay part of its debt, including a bridging loan of 297 million pounds ($595 million).

5. Finally, the shareholders that jump on boat from 1.00 and above are rewarded with today's close price of 0.945cts.

There are still members jumping in at 0.945 when i cannot make any sense out of it. I salute to all who are brave to buy.

No offense to anyone but can some gurus predict the direction it will go based on the above?

Shares of Genting International (GNTG.SI: Quote, Profile , Research) fell as much as 3.1 percent to S$0.94 with 45.8 million shares traded after the gambling group planned a rights issue to raise as much as S$2.3 billion ($1.5 billion).

"The pricing for the rights has not been fixed. Also, there will be shareholders who are not interested in paying more for the rights, who are dumping shares before the exercise date," said a local dealer.

The company plans to use the proceeds, expected to be between S$2 billion and S$2.3 billion, to fund the development of the casino-resort and repay part of its debt, including a bridging loan of 297 million pounds ($595 million).

chendol,

you very observant....

From my experience, I noticed that people like to use "we" when propounding things that are uncertain. If things turn the opposite way, the "we" somehow helps them to feel better thinking that the blame is share by others as well.

iPunter,

You are right...perhaps testicles is a better word....... Smiley

Be careful, less the femmes will chide you for discrimination (why not something else instead of bolas?)...

But maybe it's not really a problem...
