just wondering if the writer is contradicting herself... and just trying to kick up a fuss.

"I was just helping my parents as they were seated elsewhere and could not speak English." Could not speak English and asked for English newspaper??? Not to look down on anyone... Why does she ask for English paper?

This person who got a shock of the rudeness should write to the service quality department instead of to the press.... unless SIA never give a valid answer... SIA is well known for their service... and this give me a shock too.... And this bad news really give the wrong world a shock especially it is through internet which can be accessed everywhere.....

Shocked by behaviour of SQ leading stewardess - asia1.com on 23 Jan 2008

MY PARENTS and I were on flight SQ865 on Jan 13, from Hong Kong to Singapore.

The Leading Stewardess was giving out The Straits Times and I requested a copy. I also asked her politely to pass another set of newspapers to my father, who was seated in another row.

To my surprise, she told me loudly to share the newspapers since we are one family and that there were still many other passengers waiting to get a copy. Can you imagine how embarrassing it was for me?

How would the other passengers think - that I was greedy? I was just helping my parents as they were seated elsewhere and could not speak English.

She could have said something along the line of "I'm sorry Madam, but can you please share if you don't mind as we are running out of newspapers".

I was stunned by her rudeness and could only manage a reply of "Okay".

Singapore Airlines is supposed to be well-known for its good service, but why was I given that kind of treatment?

Was it because I was seated in the Economy class?

Sorry, wrong analogy.

This is SIA: it is like flying into turbulence with free fall from engine failure.

Thanks every1.

But looking at the TA chart, it appears to be a vehicle going down hill without a brake.

SIA's financial year end is 31 March. So, if they declare interim and final divvy, it will usually be in the half year (ending 30 Sep) and full year (ending 31 Mar) results announcements.

Half year result has to be announced by 15 Oct and full year by end May.

Hope the info helps.

I rcv my last SIA dividend payout on 30 Nov 07. The XD was on 14 Nov and registration is on 16 the same month. Normally, most coy will give about a month of grace period prior to XD date. Henceforth the last result announcement for SIA was around in Oct 07.

For twice dividend payout a yr, the next likely announcement period for SIA is around Mar 08. But you have to look out for any sign if coy AGM or special meeting when comes Feb 08.

Good luck.
