More troubles to come, esp regions around us. ie political problem in Thailand, financial issue at Vietnam, mee soto ax the causeway and last but not least, JI issue at the southern part of the island.
Elf, i think what may cause more blood and gore in the streets would be an israeli attack on iran's nuclear facilities. Iran would then most likely shut the strategic straits of hormuz, which would spiral out of control as the US might reopen the straits with force.
Such meatily profound stock wisdom coming routinely from Elfin is to me a wonderful occurrence

On this topic, one old book in my library stands out among others...
(it's maybe out of print now) ..
for those nervy, lost or frustrated in the current market. was it Graham who said:
"The market is a pendulum forever swinging between irrational exuberance and unwarranted pessimism."
And the immortal line by one of the biggest sharks of them all: "The best time to buy is when there is blood on the streets."
Investor, trader, or speculator? Which are you? Acknowledge the truth as such, and have no pretensions otherwise. Lots of ways to make money; no one way is right.
The real test of any of the above is not in a bull market, but a bear: it is easy for anyone to make money in a bull market. Just throw a stone into the crowd of stocks. But now? One of the things I've never liked about traders is the big egos they have; the unwillingness to listen to others; the ugly face of greed that comes out when they are winning, and think they'll always keep winning.
They forget the basic truth: that the market is not a faithful wife but a temperamental mistress. The moment you let your guard down, and make the mistake of thinking you know her, that it is easy to earn, you will lose.
Because the odds, always, are skewed to the House.
So the question is: is there blood on the streets yet?
My answer? Yes, but not enough.

With Share buy back,the shares are then cancelled and thus the EPS,DPS etc are supposed to improved.
if director buys the shares,none of these happen.
Share buy back supposed to project a confidence motion that the company can have the means or ability to buy back shares.
However,when director buys the shares it can be that he is trying to prop up the share px?
Between share buy-back and buying by director, say for same no. of shares, which is more beneficial and to whom ?
Everyone is interested in more money... everyone...
In my opinion,if one is trading in the share mkt or checking up on SJ for tips etc..means that he or she is striding to make money.
And when one is making money or say on a purple patch,how can one say,ok...that is enuf.I stop here.?

yes the current material life has totally changed the perspective of our children life. their mind are now different from our generation leow. perhaps some parents didn't inculcating enough on the philosophy of well being during the children upbringing time. but on the other hand, school did take over substantially of the tasks leh?? AK really much wish both my son and daughter characters like me loh. Ha ha, I meant the good side lah, he he.
