I think you know that our resident Elf  is really very much more musically talented than the repertoir of songs.. She is an accomplished pianist.. I note she talks of the "Sounds of Silence" in terms of "the harmonizing done in thirds and fifths. They use jazz chords of sevenths and ninths, that's why the song's haunting melodically".. I agree with her absolutely...

I thinks she should have embarked on a musical career but chose for Singapore practical reasons be stuck with the Home Office.. cloistered in spooky environment..  and could only see the flashing neon gods.. but not for long I suspect..the world will be her oyster...

Unfortunately,i do not drink beer or wine.So embarassing,when ppl come to my house,no beer,no wine and no coke(not healthty).

No wonder aussie get drunk all the time during summer.

You are spot on about Technical Analysis... :)

Actually, after you've mastered the 'rudiments' of TA, you can  play any simple market song with the knowledge.

When it comes to stock market technicals the simpler the song, the better. There is great truth that knowing too much is detrimental to one's judgement.

There are people who "play" the market with only the simplest of technical knowledge. And there are those who must make it so complicated with scores and scores of 'indicators' and sophisticated formulae, but finally also are nett minus.

 

These two lines from Sound of Silence left a lasting impression since the first time I heard the sound eons ago.



"People talking without speaking", "People hearing without listening".



Also, I once heard from someone speaking in jest something like "If you one to commit suicide, fly Garuda. Chance of success is rather high and you get insurance payout faster!"
