I'm an nerdy engineer.... working in the electronic design firm... is also consider one of the americano MNC.... can't tell you the name maybe some of my manage is here chatting as well? ^_^
Well by right my office hrs is 8-5:30, so you didn't lose much.... so no need to change job!!!
so what abt ya bun bun? care to share your industrial insider view?
yes, auntie bun ...nie... I did try snakes.. at first ordinary ones... in HK, then in Guangzhou, I went more exotic.. the meat tastes like chicken... nothing to scream about... however the interesting part is in the preparation.. they kill and skin the snake right in from of you, yank out the gall and then put it in glass of white wine for you to down it in one gulp..
then as i mention earlier, in my subsequent trips to the stall (by the Pearl river) they recommended Guo san Feng (across three peaks) i.e the KING COBRA.. the most poisonous and fearsome of snakes... I was foolish enough to try... when I got back to Singapore, I broke out in rashes which oddly enough comes only at night. Since then, I swear off eating snakes......

I was told even if u have lasik, when u have pass a certain age u still have to wear reading glasses.
So what is the diff?
uncle forever, maybe other than greed, i can learn patience (which i'm deeply guilty of). wait till there's a deeper correction than buy in.
what do u work as? or what industry are u in? 9-5 sounds good. if i'm not traveling, my offiicial hrs are 9-6. with lunch hr factored in, u actually work 2 hrs lesser than me leh. basket! i wanna change job...
hahaha... godpa, u hit the bunnie's eyes again :)
uncle kiasu, thanks but no thanks, i won't consider lasik now. the very first batch of ppl who have had lasik done (these white lab mice) are still not 'old' enough to experience the side effects. i will wait perhaps for a good 5 yrs later to consider lasik.
Geojam, thanks for the suggestion. Will look into it.

Learn about margin lending from articles or newspapers or books. It can be ur friend if u know,i repeat, know how to managed it.
geojam,
This thread was started by elf. I don't want to sidetrack it by writing matters unrelated to shares.
Hahaha, yes greed and fear. They co-exist. But the good thing is, each time I'm tempted to ride a little more on the profit wave, I'm reminded of the magical figure $120k! Haha. So, I stop and take whatever profit there is. Not that bad, huh? I believe in life, we must learn from our mistakes and let's move on! Hmm.......... heard that not too long ago? Somewhere............
geojam,
Was busy resorting my porfolio. Made a stupid panic mistake by selling all my AG shares. Now I stand to make over $10k less. sigh....... Anyway, I'd bought some penny stocks today with 1/2 of that money and hope to see some light in the not too distant future.

Long time no hear from u.
yes i agreed i did not loose. But it was painful at that time to let go.
Because, fear sets in,what if i do not sell and it go further down?
greed and fear.
bunbun
U dare to say go hot date with me cos u know i am not in spore and i am married.Hahaha
geojam,
But at least you didn't loose.
adrianpang05
Greed.That is real sad man.
Now u hear mine.I have got 500 lots of telstra shares when it first floated.I paid A$2,went up to like A$3.30,Itchy backside, did not sell, then went bach to A$2.4.Start selling.
Friend,500 lots times A$1.3 profit.
uncle forever (yongjiu), i only want to go hot dates with godpa and elf, not interested in hot dates with 20s or 30s or 40s uncles or gor gor *big smile* heh, btw, where have you disappeared to? so long never heard from you. holiday or away for business?
godpa, ya lor. you got the meaning all mixed up :)
uncle kiasu, i will never want to try monkey's brains. alot of germs. actually there's nothing to be impressed about. those yei wei were all cooked, and the locals ate them w me. so, if they are ok, i am ok. and usually they ate first coz i always say i dunno how to eat them then make small talk with them and waited for a good 5-10 mins to see if they are ok. hahaha. those i got from street stalls, i just get the vendors to re-fry them again. else, i ate from shops so usually no problem. i'm dying to try snake gall and meat thou. have u tried?
adrianpang05, sorry to hear about your loss. if u don't mind, can share w us? im learning to curb greed too. it's such a human characteristic. there may not be sloth or glut or other vices in us, but i'm sure there is a certain degree of greed in everyone.
Geojam, I bought a total of 2mn shares of a particular counter over a period of time, upon the recommendation of my broker. I'd made that decision after reading what that brokerage firm had reported.
I'd calculated that with every 1cent movement upwards I'd reap $20k! Easy money, ya? But alas, that didn't happen and I cut loss after it went 6cents against me.
Moral of the story, for me at least, overcome GREED! With the lesson at the back of my mind, I now trade with extra care. So far, so good with the exception of my M'ysian counter.
Btw what is the general trend for the young singapore gal these day?
Would they seriously start doing financial planning as early as early-20 or only until when they reach mid-30?

seriously auntie Bunnie, I am very impressed that you like yeh mei (wild tastes). I have myself tried different kinds too, of cos, wild boar, rabbit, dogs in S China, antelope (eland), zebra, camel, ostrich, crocodile, grasshoppers, beetles, insect larve in east Africa, horse meat (in Kazakhstan). Some of the more interesting ones include monkeys (in riau), and of cos guo san feng (king cobra) in guangzhou... However I think I would not want to try live monkey brains.....
