Elfin. Yep more or less same as yours. May be more conservative as I only consider those which people cannot do without their services as defensive stocks. Have a nagging feeling that STI has reached its top at 3232 (95% of my estimated 3400). Let's watch out for d-wave, if it can end higher than the base of a wave, then the bull is still on.

hahaha... appreciate your comaraderie... :)

In saying that "money is everything", I was just highlighting a truth....

However, in my opinion (humble, of course), it is only after having money that other things like spirituality can be attained and not before.

Because, if one has lived only in relative poverty, it is not possible to attain real spiritual  in an absolute sense. This can be paraphrased as...

if one has nothing to give yet, how can one claim to be able to give that something?

As an example... Gautama Buddha in his wealth, has attained the true spirituality.

iPunter,

Don't you think that you should appreciate the fellowship here more than just thinking of feasting and making money as Li Bai said: "Jiu feng zhi ji qian bei shao". Lest have a shao xing toast :) cheers!

Hi Elf,

Thanks for your clarifications regarding the type of postings preferred.  Actually I'd never wanted to post sexually explicit terms, but it's because I was replying to sohguanh, who had initiated on the Aussie's night life.  Anyway, we'll put all these behind us now.

Regarding AG, yeh, it was quite a hush hush bad decision, heartache man.  Anyway, what's done cannot be undone anymore, except that I stand to make over $18k lesser within a matter of 1 week.  Hmm.....if only I have the crystal ball?  Hey, anybody with a good crystal ball for sale???  Willing to pay high price, but must be accurate type lah with 5 years prediction warranty.  haha, may be asking for too much huh.

Anyway, coming back to AG.  Now I've used about 1/2 of the amount sold to buy some penny stocks.  I hope to recover from these in the short to medium term, but I'm also willing to hold them for a while longer if the market situation should deteriorate.  I think lady luck is not with me.  For example, after buying a stock on Friday, it closed the day about 3.2% lower (from my buying price).  Sigh......  I'm keeping the other 1/2 as liquidity as I think it's safer to re-allocate my holdings to 60/40 (stocks/cash) during this present uncertain condition.

Hi Asterisk,

The female salsa dance instcruor told us she used to have 2 left feet. But eventually she became a salsa dance instructor! You never know unless you try. The same goes with most things in life. I went with a female friend to Caliente for salsa lessons. In Spanish Caliente means hot! Just type Caliente under internet search and you can find it.

Looking at me, nobody would believe that I used to be a bar top dancer.*haha*

elfinchilde: thank you very much  for ur lesson in "higher highs and lower lows principle ". For the past 3 hrs or so I had been drawing the charts and trying to internalize the concept. In fact I had drawn the charts on post-it and pasted on the monitor.

I had also been looking at the charts u mentioned ste, uic, etc and notice that most of them  have prices going up while the volume going down. I think this a classic one where the collape of prices is imminent. Will I be right to say that ? I also note that stocastic are moving up towards the oversold region, also indicating that reversal is imminent . I notice that kepland, ocbc , uic had formed a doji : also indicating imminent reversal. Will you say this right ?

Like I have said earlier, I just picked up a little here and there and formed my own crude system.

Hi Asterisk,

Yeah, try salsa:). I tried it about 4 months ago. You have to really practise once you start. So I have forgotton the steps of what I have learnt before as I never practised. So I'll make a fool of myself if I go to level 2 salsa. I like the beat of salsa music:). Go with a partner then you can practise with her.

Elfin...

Do you particularly love violin music?

I do. Vanessa Mae is one of my favourite players, especially due to her "pop" style which she so deftly  executed at Albert Hall some years back.

But the real 'soul-grabbing' sounds I truly relish are Teleman's, etc... banquet music played on the best-sounding violins in existence.

Hi elf,

Didn't know that you play musical instruments! The only musical instrument I can play very well is my trusty iPod.  Hahaha...

About the market, well.... the low volumes these past few days are not a good sign. Usually bullish conditions results in price increases AND large volumes.

Remain cautious!

yes Ipunter, you are a wise man... I agree absolutely... the good book talks about Solomon who

"All that my eyes desired I did not refuse them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure"

yet having gone through it

"Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2:11)"
Chinkiasu...

Please accept my heart-felt respects to you, my dear friend...

It is so obvious to me you are such a learned and wise man, too

Truly, you belong to nothing less than the "Solomon League"...  :)
