Sharer, strange leh, before SGX closed, I had returned this post with below answers, but it didn't get through? Was it blocked?? last try.
I heave heard of people driving back to visit loved ones in nursing homes there.
>those are working abroad or distant.
Wonder what are the advantages of staying in nursing homes there as compare to here (eg $, bigger space)?
>Cheap, RM 700/mth for normal stay for healthy retiree. meals and snacks provided. free laundry and changing of bed sheet daily. TV indoor and outdoor cum papers provided.
>my mum is paralysed. cum pampers n special snacks, avg RM 1000/mth.
>bungalow size area with flowery garden. a good and hygienic place, both indoor and outdoor, for stay. Both husband n wife, the owner, are chinese sinsay plus another 4 experienced maids to take care of <20 stay-in per.
Do they accept foreigners or only Malaysians?
>anyone can stay there but only chinese. dun know why. for foreigner, you need to extend the one mth limit stay at im
thats all.
Saudi king opens inter-faith meet
Madrid: King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia exhorted followers of the world's leading faiths to turn away from extremism and embrace a spirit of reconciliation, saying at the start of an interfaith conference yesterday that history's great conflicts were not caused by religion itself but by its misinterpretation.
"We must tell the world that differences don't need to lead to disputes," the king said a Spanish interpreter.
"The tragedies we have experienced throughout history were not the fault of religion but because of the extremism that has been adopted by some followers of all the religions, and of all political systems."
King Abdullah's comments came at the start of a Saudi-sponsored gathering that aims to bring Muslims, Christians and Jews closer together at a time when the world often puts the three faiths at odds.
The Saudis have billed the gathering as a strictly religious affair, with no mention of issues such as the war in Iraq or rising oil prices.
Since taking over the oil-rich kingdom following the death of his half brother in 2005, King Abdullah has made reaching out to other faiths a hallmark of his rule. Late last year he met with Pope Benedict XVI -- the first meeting ever between a pope and a reigning Saudi king.
Earlier in June, he improved relations between Islam's two main branches, Sunni and Shia, and reject extremism.http://www.todayonline.com/pdf_main.asp?pubdate=20080717

The Things That Make Us Happy
Money
If you're poor, money does make a difference. But above a threshold of about $40,000 a year, more won't make you happier. Comparisons, though, influence your state of mind: No matter how much or how little you make, doing better than your neighbor will make you feel better.
Youth
Young people are more aware of bad news and negative emotions than are the elderly. Aging seems to bias us toward the positive, despite more fragile health and finances; that may be because we've come closer to reaching our goals.
Intelligence
Smarts have only a weak effect on happiness; being brainy may decrease satisfaction by raising your expectations and making you more aware of your shortcomings.
Free Time
Well-spent leisure time can lead to great leaps in happiness: Activities that combine socializing and physical activity and require some moderate skills are the best (think salsa!). Most of us spend a lot of our leisure time watching TV, which can be relaxing; but we'd be happier if we just went bowling. Don't envy your laid-off friends; while the unemployed have more time, most have little active leisure, which is one of the reasons they're so unhappy.
Social Skills
Friendship is one of life's main joys. Due to novelty, spending time with friends lifts your mood more than spending time with family. Being cooperative and knowing how to chat up the opposite sex are also associated with happiness.
Sense of Humor
Not taking things so seriously can bring hope and happiness. People with a hopeful outlook tend to also be good at laughing.
Volunteering
In one study, volunteer and charity work generated more joy than anything except dancing. The sense of accomplishment, the social connection and the chance to do something meaningful are what make it so much fun.

Spore welcome skill workers and people with papers. Unlike other foreigners, most Msians would prefer to be PR here instead of taking the citizenship.
Johoreans got the advantage to settle here much easier than those in northern parts.
Initiallly, AK came from northern part in the early 70s. then life was tough in my kampong. yrs later quite used to the life style here and couple with other reasons, both my wife n I renounced our Msian citizenship.
JJ
Is it hard to come from Msia and settle in spore?Initially,i mean
