unbelievable! For as long as I can remember, it has been Acma.... why would they want to change name to have the word 'China' infront. Fashionable or what? To confirm that it's has been Acma, got the info from SGX website:

The Company was incorporated on 9 October 1965 (just 2 months after Singapore was born!) as a private company. It acquired public status on 5 June 1968. .... The Company's name was changed from Acma Electrical Industries Ltd to Acma Ltd on 1 August 1990. (note that the word Acma remained)

unbelievable... do they think by changing the name will bring good fortune to the share price?

Rose on a proposed disposal of its Australian unit (National Engineering Pty Ltd). Some traders speculated that this could pave the way for some new business injection in the future.

ACMA by shareinvestor Forum

Hi Xfactor and all

In my opinion, the potential of a transformed Acma has not been discovered yet due to the lack of reporting & publicity in the newspapers about the debt-equity swap, the placement shares, the put-call options, and the involvement of Doris Chung & her spouse.

Caveat Emptor

Sound Like Easy Call in early Days...From 15 Cents to 80Cents Quote:

(a) The immediate & direct stake (4.4% of 879,043,000 shares = 38.7m shares acquired at undisclosed price
(b) 50m shares through placement agreement @ 0.08 = $4m
(c) The call & put options (which is as good as a Sale & Purchase Agreement - both sides can't back out of it) to be exercised over the course of the next few years. (4 tranches) = (381,816,250 X 0.05) + (381,816,250 X 0.05) + (381,816,250 X 0.07) + (381,816,250 X 0.15) = 1,527,265,000 X 0.08 (average prc) = $122.2m

3. The revitalised Acma balance sheet after the debt-equity swap.

(a) Gearing drops from 175.7 times to 0.21 times
(b) Shareholders' funds increased from $757K to $126.9m
(c) NAV increases from 0.1 cts to 5.2 cts per share

4. No overhang of shares due to (a) Moratorium on Conversion Shares (b) Banks' exit strategy is via Doris Chung, not on the open market.

Hi iPunter, what rogue_trader mentioned is right, we are here to share and learn, more importantly to make profits. For me, I'm new here trying to learn from the all the gurus here including you. You also mentioned friction and disagreement exist, so just take it easy and imagine that you are in a debate. Wishing you a happy and prosperous new year!

iPunter, no go la. I think there no two sides of a good point in a human. If only matter which perspective one is looking from. Sometimes I really wonder if those so-called arguments are "staged" by "competitors of ShareJunction, and also including the "bad points" saga few months ago, so that people will be discourage to use this forum. I strongly believe that arguments can weaken a bond, but it can also strengthen a bond if one thinkings is firm. Like if all the "speculators" in Singapore combine together and "aim" at one particular counter, I think it can thwart those big-boys manipulations.

I love some of your langauage used in your posts and your knowledge. If you want to keep all this to yourself by leaving this forum, I think SJ will going to be a dull place with no talented people to booast about.

Last but not least, pls look at the bigger picture. We are all here to share and learn, and hopefully profits coming in. Some of us here are only small players, surely you wouldn't want us to be "played" out by those big players rite? Wish you all the best.

Hi iPunter,

I don't contribute much in this forum because I'm not a good investor. Just trying to learn from the gurus here. I read your posts a lot so please don't go away!  :)

Have a Happy New Year!
