Looks like Genting is hitting it?s bottom before Xright at 85 cts. If down any further, assuming 70cts is it?s right issue price, it would not be attractive at all for investor to subscribe the rights. All is risk, risk & risk but if there is no risk there will be no gain, at your own risk, own target, carry on.Not an inducement to buy pls.

You may go to SGX website to check on their annoucement.  http://info.sgx.com/webcorannc.nsf/560dd4b031b97d27482571b20043d38c/4ca053c220e632424825730800513e95?OpenDocument

Meanwhile, the post by Eddyson below had provided some answers for you, I cut and paste here for you to read.

Q: Meaning if i buy 5000 shares now.. i can choose not to buy extra 3000 shares right?
Q:Can i choose to buy part of the rights? ie to say, I hold 5000 shares and I can buy the 3000 extra shares.

A : if you buy share now or before the last day of 14 Aug, this is called Mother share in order not to confuse with the right share.
Now Gen Int is trading with CR, so when you buy 5000 Mother shares, you are entitled 3000 RightShares.
RightShare had a exercising price ( price is yet to be determined). You may choose to sell these 3000 RightShares within a very limited trading period. Or you may choose to exercise the 3000 Rightshare ( instruction and document shall be mailed to you by SGX) and convert them into the Mother shares, then you become owner of  8000 mother shares.

Do take note that on Aug 15 when Gen Int is trading with XR ( Ex-Right) , the 'Mother share' price will adjust down because of many Rightshares in the market.
So do not rush to buy ,   study this counter properly first until you understand the meanings and determine that you want to buy Gen Int share.

Q: If i choose to buy, at what price?
If you choose to buy now ( or upto14 Aug), you can buy only the Mother share. You buy at the market price.

Q:If i dont not have sufficient funds, would i be able to buy just 1000 shares?
A: Yes, you can buy 1000 shares. But you have to deal with odd lot. Since 3 for 5 Right is attached to mother shares during CR ( Cum-Right, last day 14 Aug) trading, you will get 600 Rightshare.

Hope this explanation helps.

Right issue price will be know after EGM which is on 8th Aug 07, just before national day. Most probably 67 cts to 69 cts on total new shares issued &  on what Genting expect to received back in cash. There is also a book closure date which is 17th Aug 07.Breakeven after X right should be calculated on what you own + the total of your eligible right issue cost, than divide by 8.Pls double check as I have been out from my school days for many, many years

Hi all,

I am new to this rights thing too. Can i choose to buy part of the rights? ie to say, I hold 5000 shares and I can buy the 3000 extra shares. If i dont not have sufficient funds, would i be able to buy just 1000 shares?

Thank you for the advise.

Cheers.

1.   Assuming you currently DO NOT own any Gen Int shares, then this announcement means if you buy this share before the ex-date(15 Aug), you are entitled to have 3:5 RIGHT Share. So, if you buy 5000 share, you will be entitled to 3000 RIGHT shares.

You can see from SGX website the remark column on this counter, it is now showing CR ( Cum-right).
  Gen IntCR0.870-0.030-3.331,2391,7070.8700.8751,0280.9000.855SERV

On EX date, that is on 15 Aug, you will see this counter's remark changed to XR ( Ex-Right).

I think it is time BB is buying into genting to enjoy right issue, genting now 0.915 cents. As I said, the only direction of this share is up. Once there is some news, this counter will cheong like crazy because market has lot of float now.

Sold all my XXX lots 2 weeks ago. Just not happy with the rights issue. The price is now holding on to get a good right issue subscription price.  May buy back after Ex-right if the market is not volatile.

vivacious,

Before u make any decision, ask yourself why do u wanna sell off?

This counter is bound to move forward with time. So if u do have the holding power then just keep it with u.

Somehow this counter has to move upward. The current trading volume is very thin, look like BB is holding on the share, they may push it up soon to enjoy the right issue to breakeven or make some money.

Chinkiasu... :)

In three month's time, the stock/s will be either very much higher...
or very much lower...  The only question is which? ...

The reality is :- It is all a matter of speculation...

Those heavily involved can prove this by the very emotions they experience while awaiting the outcome...Smiley

The price going down is not a problem to me, in fact it is an opportunity for me to buy back as I hv already off loaded at a dollar which I hv bought at average of 32 cts. My regret is that I hv bought back 50% of what I had off loaded at 92 cts.In between from the day Genting won the bid until it reach $1.2, it hv been a yoyo stock meaning it went up & down vigourously & many traders hv been making tons of money from this situation. At this point of time, looks like we need to watch Dow Jones & Shanghai.
