AK has strong feeling that CO will be clamped down, with multibles meeting here and there. Just stdby to pick up lulian. Ha ha/
I'm monitoring this one as well. Waiting for 14 plus. Very difficult level. I believe once oil drops or Dow rallies, this will cheong very aggressively. Just got some kind of feeling that 2nd half will rally in a small way, maybe after the euro cup. When the euro cup ends?
168 tks for the support. as posted on other posts, waiting to acc this burger, when thing go up may come down, sifu said one. patiently waiting loh, b4 31 Jul X day. cheers.
Note that some powerful pple have direct stake in SIA... Thus the term "National Carrier"

Agree. Crude Oil is high, but what goes up MUSTcome down one day. With such high CO, SIA is trading at this level. If buy now and CO drops, wun it boost the share price of our National Carrier? Also with high CO the smaller player in the industry will be force out of business, this will enhance SIA's mkt share in the future. I am bullish on SIA. My view only...

High oil price will impair the growth of the global aviation industry. Fuel costs amount to about 30% of an airline's operating costs.
SIA's margins will be eroded due to this.

SIA: Any rebounds to be limited
While the share price of Singapore Airlines (SIA SP) is approaching oversold levels as evidenced by the 14-day RSI and the break of the lower bollinger band, we caution that a technical rebound may still be off the cards as the violation of the lower band was accompanied with a series of lower highs which suggest that the current downtrend has not yet tapered off. Furthermore, engaging in long positions at present levels also may not be advisable, as the 50 & 100-day moving averages have converged at the technical gap area thus forming a strong barrier that should cap any potential upside.
Nevertheless, should share price continue with its fall, support at the 14.48 – 14.58 range should limit further downside. Resistance meanwhile is present at the 15.46 – 15.76 level by virtue of the aforesaid factors.
I m a newbie here

Just wish to comment that whenever brokerages "downgrade" a stock for no apparent reasons, it means that its time to load up.
SIA provides premium travel and over 50% of their biz come from business class and above which is 4 times their premium economy rates.
I dun think the higher fuel prices will impact their bottomline too much. In fact, if you look at the fuel expenses of such companies, they only form a small fraction of the total operating expense of the airlines biz.
Just me 2 cts worth.
(I think the CEO's claim of $1.00 dividend is not too far fetched regardless of share price)
Do take account of the $800 dividend. When prices shoot up. Normal investors don't have time to grab it. Fixed a price for yourself. Take it when it comes along. It might drop more. But when if its a good company. Why not?
