teeth53, you apply any ipos in 2008. I hv not touch a single ipo issue this year. Looks like cheaper to buy after listed. So i did not bother to read any ipo prospectus this year. Very taxing on the eyes reading all those thick propectus but it is best to read them like you said before investing.
You and zhugeliang are both kings of ipos... never fail to let us know of all upcoming ipos... thx.
Post here just to re-fresh those interested in IPO-ing this coming offer...

Prospectus (managing risk & don get caught investing blindly, an understanding the value of investing).
Market Sentiment: (Bullish or none-bullish business enviroment on it IPO's listing).
This will give some push to HK bourses and to a some extent... To SIN. Meanwhile this lastest one and only one available as, till Oct 15, China Oil IPO can , will provide some kopi $$$ to lucky IPO-rian. However if it is so hard to be lucky, the choice is very personal.
SHANGHAI, Oct 13 (Reuters) - PetroChina <0857.HK>
week of October, with the shares listing in Shanghai in mid-November, the sources said. On Sept. 24, China's stock regulator approved PetroChina's plan to issue up to 4 billion new A shares in the offer, which is expected to raise around $7-8 billion, making it one of China's five biggest domestic IPOs. IPOs are usually launched within two weeks from approval. Since Chinese markets were closed for a week-long holiday at the start of October, PetroChina had been expected to launch its offer last week. However, the sources said the launch had been delayed slightly because government officials and markets would be preoccupied next week with a Communist Party leadership meeting,
and to allow the money market to settle down after large share offers last month triggered a major funding squeeze.

Solid post my venerable Teeth53!
Teeth, what are the % of IPOs that made you money?
IPO fever, do your financial homework 1st to avoid getting burnt.
Prospectus (managing risk & don get caught investing blindly, an understanding the value of investing).
Financial ratios (Look for px to PE ratio, px to NTA value, dividend policy, gross, net profit margins & returns on equity).
Usage of IPO proceeds (proceeds for working capital and expansion or be use to clear debt).
Market Sentiment: (Bullish or none-bullish business enviroment on it IPO's listing).
Earnings track record (watch for past earning over last 2-3 years, no sudden record performance in sales and profits).
Pricing (a key indicator on share price performance. PER-lower ratio the better it share value the share price offers).
Strategy: Buy and hold, buy and sell or buy and stag ? (stagging-selling IPO shares on the 1st trading day).
Outlook for IPO market (bullish 60 IPOs was listed in SGX, raised a mind-boggling $7.6 bil, 25% more than 2005).
UBS & DBS Bank (joint lead mgrs) for Yangzijiang Shipbuilding IPO is S?pore's largest so far this year. And more choices are in the offing. 'The reason is that the foreign merchant banks have finally realised that there is a really huge Sing dollar deposit base in Singapore that is extremely hungry for 4-5% interest-yielding. In today, a more volatile market environment, yield-driven structures such as Reits and business trusts will continue to do well.
Hope it help and with Best Regards.
