Dr Toh Soon Huat, founder of Novena Holdings, has purchased 20m shares or 2.95% of WE Holdings at $0.11 per share, from Singyasin SMC Technologies, the investment vehicle of the Company’s Chairman, Mr Terence Tea. The Company intends to leverage on Dr Toh as a strategic investor, tapping his extensive business contacts and experience in Myanmar. Following this transaction, Terence Tea will see his stake reduced from 10.25% to 7.3%.

WE Holdings has entered into share placement agreements with 14 private investors, and will issue an aggregate 80m new shares at $0.10224 per placement share, worth $8.2m. The issue price represents an 8.7% discount to the counter’s last close at $0.112. Net proceeds from the proposed placement will be used to repay US$5.9m of the co’s borrowings.
