I would recommend buy for this counter. Collect while you can at your own comfortable price. Something is brewing

Goldman Sachs ups Neptune Orient Lines target price to $2.90 from $2.70, maintains Sell rating. Broker says target price hike reflects container shipping rates staying stronger for longer than expected; raises FY08, FY09 earnings estimates by 32%, 73%, respectively. Says, "we attribute higher rates to unprecedented capacity discipline that has afforded the carriers leverage over customers." But broker warns outlook challenging, market too optimistic in assuming improving operating data. Advises investors to sell into strength; "in our view, the 2Q rally in the container sector was a false start and we expect it to trade range-bound over the next few months before the de-rating resumes."

if Citigroup continues on their reports with inaccuracy of their target prices and buy/sell calls...soon they will lose big credibility ....just look at their sell call for Cosco....now NOL...

Citigroup can trust?? big company...negative reputation themselves

someone should take citi to task for their ridiculous reports.  juz look at how strong nol was after their report was issued.  whoever the analyst is, he/she sure has his brain in his anal!

Citi... ever the pessimist said this:
DJ MARKET TALK: NOL Buy Of Hapag Lloyd May Mean Dilution - Citi (2008/05/28 10:15AM)

0215 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Neptune Orient Lines (N03.SG) may face
dilution if it buys Hapag Lloyd, the shipping arm of Germany''s TUI
(TUI1.XE) for US$7 billion, says Citigroup. "NOL is a quality player but
has enough on its plate already before managing a massive transaction at
container vessel prices near all-time highs," broker says in note. Says
given NOL has only US$2.8 billion in equity, shareholder dilution is a
possibility depending on the relative valuation between NOL and Hapag Lloyd
in any deal. Adds, Norwegian ship owner John Fredriksen, who owns around
11.7% of TUI is likely to hold out for high price, has said he is against a
fast sale; city of Hamburg may emerge as rival bidder, which could also
push up the takeover price. Keeps Sell call, S$2.70 target price. Share
+2.0% at S$3.64. (KIG)

Neptune Orient Lines rose to a one-week high after Morgan Stanley issued a note saying NOL should ride on strong freight rates and outperform its peers.

"We (are) confident about NOL's business fundamentals and its ability to outperform its peers in a poor macroeconomic environment," Morgan Stanley said in a client note.

"With more than 90% of 2008 Transpacific contracts moving to a floating bunker surcharge mechanism, NOL and the industry should face significantly less exposure to volatile and high oil prices," said Morgan Stanley analysts.

The U.S. investment bank kept NOL at an "overweight-v" rating with a price target of $4.80.
