Genting Singapore has just been downgraded to a sell by UOB KayHian. Apart from being the most expensive casino stock in Asia -- the stock trades at EV/EBITDA of 17.5 times, and PER of 30 times -- UOB KayHian reckons that junkets are not likely to be legalised any time soon. Also, its 3Q10 results were below the consensus gaming EBITDA forecasts of $320 million to $330 million for that quarter. “Marina Bay Sands could be gaining market share to eventually take pole position (MBS’s market share was 33% in 2Q10 and 47% in 3Q10),” UOB KayHian states, adding that “EBITDA margins could fall significantly, reflecting intensifying overseas marketing efforts and greater dependency in the lower (junket-like) margin high roller segment.”
However non-gaming revenue could improve. Universal Studios Singapore has been drawing in the crowds, and better hotel revenues are likely as more hotels open this year and RevPAR rises. UOB KayHian has a target of $1.85 for Genting Singapore, and the stock last traded at $2.22.

Why not you wait for BT's structured instructional

sessions before you start to 'gasak' and read everything indiscrimately?

It is not good for newbies to start on the wrong footing,

because that will create a long-term liability for them... Smiley

Refinancing at 4.2 billions mean...still paying hefty interest rate peg at market rate or cheaper then market ?, and at the same time paying dividend.

This allow Ah Lim (owner) and his kakis another (not so new) way to make ton of money into his pocket, making gain out of capital refinancing, at odd is the same borrowing and paying interest for borrow $4.2bil, and with more cheaper legal gambling houses all approval and blessing from each individual successful govt to compete with...

Well it sounded sexy and attractive to punters. I wishes all good luck and a happy new year 2011.

PostPosted: Fri Dec 10, 2010 1:59 pm    Post subject: Kudos! Genting Sp Refinance Loan, A Timely & Wise Move! Reply with quote

It is undeniably that Singapore has made a dramatic entry into the casino-gaming mkt since legalizing it in 2005.
2011 will be the 1st full year of operations for the 2 IRs in the Republic.
Following are some of the interesting estimates made by some of the investment banks/institutions:
PwC : Projected that Singapore's casino revenue to be US$2,8 billion this year and would leapfrog both Australia and S Korea by reaching US$5.5 billion next year(2011)!
CLSA : Projected even more explosive growth for Singapore casino mkt to be worth US$6.5 billion by 2011, matching the Las Vegas Strip and surpassing it in 2012 with a mkt size of US$8.1 billion!
That would easily put Singapore's revenue in the no.2 slot in the Asia-Pacific, behind on Macau
The both timely and wise move by the GSP's management team to take advantage of the positive current development/situation to go into and secure a refinance loan AT THIS JUNCTURE is most commendable!
With such good business sense and skills, the new terms in the new Term Loan could only be, one need not ask, BETTER!
Congrats to all Genting Singapore shareholders!

To compete cheaper and better, Batam is an ideal choice - with it 1st class facilities and so near.

Think some BBs oredi JV there on smaller scale, but can just make it on grand scale.

price has been dropping everyday since the announcement of the refinancing deal, cannot understand. may be fund just sell and lock in profit for the year, anyway it has a wonderful performance in 2010. Let's hope that the share price will continue to shine in 2011!!
