250M seems a bit lame for a company like NOL, if they really need money why pay 4cts div or 37M USD. Also the selling is almost instantanous, has to be a singular entity ??
As I said earlier, AXA just sold 2M shares on 5/3. and interestingly, the announcement came on the same day as if NOL got the info during lunch time ?? announced at 1717hours, 4 hours to think and write......hmmmmm
Anyway, out of impulse.....buy a bit at 90......heeeeee......hope I don't lose money......
If it is indeed AXA, and selling at 20M a day, still got 4 days to sell off the balance 67M shares.....
rights issue better than bail-out.
smells like capland.

Technically very dicey...
It has broken through the low floor...
If the news is confirmed, it may even fall lower (but not before a small 'bargain hunter' rally)...

'We confirm that the company has not entered into any agreements that would require disclosure in accordance with the SGX-ST Listing Rules,'
If they had entered into any agreements that would require disclosure in accordance with the SGX-ST Listing Rules, it is already old news!
As usual, "it is the company's policy not to comment on market rumour or speculation."
Remember the Chinese saying, "无风不起浪", literally means without breeze, there will not be tides!

NOL says continually evaluates options to improve performance
By ANGELA TAN
Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), whose shares sank on Tuesday on rumours of an impending rights issue, said the ompany 'continually evaluates all available options to improve its performance and strategic position'.
It added it is the company's policy not to comment on market rumour or speculation.
'We confirm that the company has not entered into any agreements that would require disclosure in accordance with the SGX-ST Listing Rules,' NOL said.
Earlier on Tuesday, a Dow Jones report said the shipping giant is considering a rights issue to raise more than US$250 million.
NOL eventually closed below S$1 a share, at 93.5 cents, down 8.5 cents from Monday.
im not trying to poor cold water, but if NOL doesn't comment on the issue, then most prob there is going to be some form of rights issue.
If you guys do remember, they tried to ask Capitaland on the then rights issue rumours. what they did say was "it is not policy to comment on rumours", soon after there was the rights issue.
When they asked CityDevt, they categorical denied any rights issue.
Hope I didn't get the facts wrong. cheers
hope they dun announce 1st if it is true. or if nt true den it will be strong rebound.
