Hi elfin, thanks for clearing my doubts. So hope all of us here can be "manipulators" of our preferred stocks.. Then don't need to be at the mercy of "manipulators", haha (the next time if "manipulators" saw my posts and decide to do the opposite, I will die big big liao..)

..it is also where your pure TA basics come in--price volume charts.

by calculating the lots bought/sold and what prices, you can see what manipulation is going on, if any.

and if from there you see yes, there's some shiftiness, you know not to trust A/D and Chaikin etc already, 'cos they'll likely read false positives/negatives.

hullo rogue_trader..

it's not a stupid thought at all. it's right. 'cos TA tracks what exactly is, ie, follows the trend. but manipulators set the trend.

which is why big boys don't have to give a damn about TA or FA or whatever. They set the dang waves that us small fries try to catch.

and that is also why TA people will avoid certain stocks. Pennies being a key see-no-touch principle.

Suddenly got this stupid thought: In the stock market, winners derived their profits from losers. So can those "manipulators" "play" the market according to TA, meaning TA showed uptrend but these "manipulators" purposely suppressed the pricing and cause it to be downtrend?

it's the construction counters that wil suffer unless the developers are understanding enough to pay a higher price. but most of the time, it's the contractors fighting to get the job as with all the public tenders. lowest wins (90% of the time).

Thank you 1 & all for the advice & concerns. I'm fully aware that whatever advice or whoever gives advice, ultimately it is my decision to trade or not to trade. I will certainly do my own homework before doing any trades.

Cheers

Got this counter 1 month back sold at $1.46. Not vested now.

Given the current sand shortage, need to be careful about property stock.

Understand from a source in construction industry, sand price is now doubled, and even derived products such as concrete, prices have doubled.  Projects are now being delayed.

This will increase the cost of raw materials for companies like Ho Bee, unless the sand ban is resolved soon.

Trade with your eyes wide open.

Agree with cr_kai, you gotta make your own trading decisions. Do not blindly follow anyone.

because of the IR, many people are just jumping into the stock market bandwagon. Just like pre tech bubble burst...after the burst all quiet down. now its back up again. i believe many of sti shares are up because of "blind" investors sniffing the wind for info then just jump in. let's just hope the market goes down slowly. if sudden major crash, our mrt will have permanent "technical fault".
