Genting Singapore: Outlook remains largely positive By Carey Wong, Mon, 21 Feb 2011, 09:24:09 SGT Genting Singapore (GS) is likely to have done well in the final quarter of 2010, the traditional holiday period - it will report its 4Q10 results on 22 Feb. We expect GS to post a core net profit of S$320.5m on revenue of S$865.8m. Going forward, the outlook for both the IRs should remain largely positive, buoyed by the continued influx of tourist arrivals, especially from China, India and other SE Asian countries. For RWS itself, the reopening of the “Battlestar Galactica” ride this month and other attractions like the Maritime Xperiential Museum and Marine Life Park by 2012 should ensure a steady stream of family-oriented crowd. We also expect RWS to try to capture part of the growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) market in the future as Singapore becomes more attractive as a MICE destination (due to its good location, infrastructure and security). Last but not least, the licensing of junket operators by the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) in the near future is also likely to boost gaming revenue for GS in the coming years. Maintain BUY with S$2.53 fair value. 4Q10 likely bountiful. We believe that Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has the correct offering as it is pitched towards the family and vacation crowd. Indeed, tourist arrival numbers have shot up to 1.127m visitors in Dec, an increase of 15.9% YoY and 17.0% QoQ. And according to RWS, it welcomed some 15m visitors to its integrated resort (IR) since its Feb opening last year rival Marina Bay Sands (MBS) said it received over 11m visitors since it opened in Apr. Largely positive outlook for 2011. Going forward, the outlook for both the IRs should remain largely positive, buoyed by the continued influx of tourist arrivals, especially from China, India and other SE Asian countries. In fact, rival MBS is so positive on this sector that it intends to tender for more land (if given the opportunity) to expand its MICE space this as it believes it will need to ration space within 12 to 18 months . Potential junkets boost. And also likely to boost gaming revenue for GS in the coming years, the licensing of junket operators by the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) in the near future media reports suggest that as many as 20 entities, endorsed by RWS, may have applied to be licensed, including several from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and Hong Kong. The CRA has also enlisted the help of Spectrum Gaming Group – a gaming industry consultant – to conduct background checks on these entities . While the licensing process has taken a slightly longer-than-expected time to complete (due to the onerous credit checks), most industry watchers believe that we may see approvals being given before Apr. Maintain BUY. For 4Q10, we expect GS to post a core net profit of S$320.5m on revenue of S$865.8m. Maintain BUY with S$2.53 fair value. |

agree, i did a quick check/survey on relatives and friends..... out 20-30 relative only 1 went to casino. out 50 friends, two friends went to casino b4....it seems to tell me most people i know, have heard about casino but very few actually went there.....
also this survey is usually taken from the cards games we play together during chinese new year........ again.....the survey does not affected the genting results....

Before anyone follows anyone's bet, be sure to do your own homework and due dilligence and not bet blindly. That is one's own responsibility. I believe Isolator has clearly stated that his bet is based on feeling.

To me, the most difficult part of trading is to judge the timeframe that it need to reach my target price.. Always buy with the ability to hold longer a bit...
G13 is a good stock when it comes to earnings, but we need to know more about the spending, right? Also the future is not as good as the present since more and more would be done to prevent Singaporeans from entering the casinos to lose their hard earned and also to break up their family happiness. Be sympathetic to our own countrymen, try not to support gambling too much. 
Let the foreigners come to lose money better than our Singaporeans losing. Cheers.

at least wait for 2.03/4 lah to enter lah.... even if it meet 2.08 still a 4 cents profit....
but you are right, trade today seem to sense more buyers.... let see, i have good respect for your prediction too !
