Suntec Reit have office rental on few years agreement. CDL H trust on hotel returns during this economy crisis which may see lesser tourists. Hospital trust is rather stable as medical needs is also in demand during such time. Mac may be risky if you are not familiar with this foreign play.
In any case, some of the reits are really good yield play for long term investors. Some times we do need to look beyond the next 2 to 3 years.
It depends on your objective. Suntec reit is a yield play and pays regular dividends quarterly.
DPU - 10.2 cts (08) and 10.6 cts (09) === from an analyst report.
At $ 1.09, the yield is 9.35% (08) and 9.72% (08)
Actually, there are other Reits that have yield of above 10% such as Cambridge, MacArthurCook, Frasers CT, K reit, Ascott RT and CDL HT. They have different risks.

what is the ideal price to buy for this counter?
generally, no play on ppty stock fr now on. just look at all ppty stock performance since Jan. 40-50 % drop in px were found not uncommon.
Wow if 9 to 10 cents its great return at the current price!

Spectacular result. This one is good for long term, receiving good payout. Short term wise, after XD, it might retreated back.
actually i m quite peculiar over the charts of SuntecReit....
although the price trend shows and obvious uptrend since April...the Acc/Dist is downtrending..many times RSI hitting overbought and stochastic also showing it hitting peaks...but yet it still climbs...
any other views or opinions on this counter?
actually no one will ever buy Suntec Reit for short term investing.....no ones ever think Reits can cheong like this fellow....so got profit just take lah.

it has been going up very fast & furiously...and on quite heavy volume..even broke past the 200MA..but haven't close above it yet
2Q08 result is out.
The DPU of 2.5185 cents for 2QFY08 was 28.2% higher than in 2QFY07
Well, if you are looking to do a short term trade, don't look at this counter. 1.43 is not a bad price, a possible close to 6% yield this year at that pruce, from my estimates.
Well, I think it's not nice to see a REIT on top volume at anytime, I feel. I'm quite picky for this, entering only at under 1.4, subject to other factors/choices due to the nature of it's business. Debts and Interests issues and blablabla....
The market is a simple supply vs demand game, just made complicated by possibilities and choices. My warpeed view. Ha!
