what a surprisingg turnaround now, selling way below their purchase prices.
Did they get hit by fund redemptions in the US?
Some facts and figures for all to digest :
Nov 2007, launched IPO 400m shares at 83cents and raised S$332m . And capitalisation about S$1.16b
Recent NTA based on last report, RMB3.308 or 60+cents
In Jun 2008, plunged to 12cents, based on 1,420m shares, current capitalisation is only S$168.24m.
This amount is 14.5% of its value from 7 months or about half of the amount raised in its IPO.
Its crazy numbers, isnt it ??
Actually I'm also waiting for it at around the same price or more clearer upwards signals.

Huh, how low can it go, my average price still above Sgd.0.43, I 'll buy again when it has reached Sgd. 0.095! another 1500 lots. I do not believe it won't go up.

Not bad. Remains unchanged. will monitor for the next few sessions but otherwise 11 - 11.5cts is a very attractive price.
What do you think? How low can it go?

looks like well supported by 11.5cts. Price is low but still downtrending. Def on my radar now.
According to their news release, they mentioned that they are not affected by the quakes.
See their projects here: http://www.china-newtown.com/projects/projects.asp.
Do they have any property in the Sichuan province?
Agree with Luckyman. Quite likely to be this fund who has been downloading since April.. Hope the selling end soon and th stock's true value can be restored!

Lets make a guess of who are the one throwing their shares and whacking down its price?

So if you look only at the transactions, it doesn't clearly reflects its true position because each sell down is actually one big chunk altogether. Just that the buy queue is not enourgh to take. So that it drops by 1 bit and such that the next transactions is a buy up.

according to this structure, it looks not too bad, with sinopower investment limited holding 45.71%... did they throw stocks yet?
Shareholding Structure
(as at 16 May 2008)

I have been watching this counter since this week. Everytime a substantial size buying queue is formed, there will be a very big sell down to force it down by 1 bit. Such that the next buy is in a big buy up queue. Actually they are changing hands at the same price. The big buy ups is usually smaller as compared to the selldown volume if you add the previous sell down and the current sell down volume which is at the same price.
Any comment on this action?
China New Town Development shares fell over 8 pct in heavy trade in Singapore as a US fund has been selling large chunks of the company's shares, dealers said.
The shares were down 0.010 sgd or 8.3 pct at 0.110 sgd after shedding 11 pct yesterday.
Traders said a US fund that holds less than 5 pct of the company has been selling shares.
Stock market disclosures show T. Rowe Price Associates sold 18.6 mln shares of China New Town on the market at the end of April and held 4.97 pct after the sale.

I think someone is offloading real stocks and not short.
