one can at least be that is one who at least works for years and have enough capital to trade or where one can get the money to invest or trade.

there was a guy told me that he puts his income(once he made it from work) to stocks (that was last year), he said buy they would go up. So he is investing not trading, may be when it's high enough for him, he would sell.

This category of people would mainly choose the blue chips, at least there is handsome dividends. it's good, think puting $100,000. you get $5000 ayear.

I ever talked to a guy in HLF, he has almost $500,000 in just one counter....I didn't dare to chat with him much and very soon he swam to talk to his group of fish............what kind of fish is he?   I have gotten the list already.

I mean by success as in, trading SG stock market full-time whereby you are not working for somebody and still manage to generate income from the stock market as a living.

Few people make money in the stock market either as a full time trader or an investor in stocks.   The people who make money are from the banks, stock brokerages and the hit and run insiders of the stock market, probably those who have connections in the financial authorities (no good to give specifics).

" Bankers" make because they have huge junk of money at hand and they can " co-operate" with one another to eat up the small fishes to share the pool amongst themselves. I will explain if you needed explanations.

" Stock brokerages" make because they not earn your commissions, but they know who is who and what is what, the going ons in the higher levels of corporate activities. On top of this, they know what you bought and what you shorted thus making a situation where you are in the bright side and they are in the dark side.   They see you, but you don't see them.If you need an explanation, many people can tell you.

" Insiders and the connected" you know they are in the upper hand of the game, with what corporate programs, approvals, restrictions, suspension, etc.,   are about to take place they will quietly enter and exit the market and make the money out of you.   Here no one needs an explanation, I am sure!   Serious, so I won't advise one to really become a full timer or big time into stock investments if you are working class or have inherited a fortune from your parents or grandparents.

On the other hand, many times I also lost in the game, with say 10 entries, 8 failed more or less.

See!!! Still want to be a trader?

interesting question...how do you define " success" ? in terms of figures : X-percentage of profitable trades, consistent positive portfolio gain, or  average X-thousands dollar income per month ?  OR in terms of life style : big house, big car,  regular overseas holiday... ? OR  family fullfillment,  happiness,  freedom,,,,OR some/all of the above OR  something else

Bruce Lee philosophy about martial art. Stage 1, when people learn kungfu, it very easy. A punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. Stage 2, they start to get more knoweldge, learn more and more complex move. Now a punch is not a punch, a kick is not a kick anymore. Stage 3, after they learn all what they had to learn and get  more exprience. They tell themself, it easy, a punch is a punch and a kick is just a kick, it so easy. Stage 4, only those who master and see beyond know this, so i tell also no use. (as i also havent reach this stage yet, it super hard, only those real master investor  legend had reach this stage 4) In stock market many lose because they havent clear stage 1 and many still struck at stage 2, those lucky had reach stage 3 and the rare can reach stage 4. Dont worry, win or lose just be happy. Cause happy life and happy family is more important in life till your last breath. If  u lucky can find a  master that can teach u all the shortcuts and the right way, u can be success in less than 2 years. If u master it, give u 10,000 can turn into 100,000+. If u dont master it, give u 100,000+ can turn  into 10,000---. All depend on U to chose what way U want :)

valtron, pick up some trading books, read and develop the success in ur own way.

there's no way to share the so-called secrets of trading, everyone has his/her own way.

*i am not a full-time trader, still hoping to turn from a super failed trader to a neutral trader.
