Thais coming election. Those who rule dun trust those who wanted to rule, so vice versa till dun know whom to trust. So this day it will take generation to rebuilt such trust. and the root causes is money, power and maybe greed as well.
Wish Thais new generation will lead a more fairly open, demo-cracy and stable kingdom.

But today, it looks like the super regional stock rally yesterday is all
only about the super duper bailout injection in Europe...
and nothing to do with the regional crisis situation...
Which have yet to unravel...
This is hindsight, though, as revealed by the market ...

Most probably things in Thailand will return to normal soon...
For even the regional stock markets thinks so...

Thai authorities are ready to discuss an amnesty for anti-government protest leaders as part of a proposed reconciliation roadmap to November elections, "The government wants to create a good climate and end the protests. Details will be discussed later. However, one of the topics that will discussed is related to an amnesty," the source told AFP, asking not to be named.
teeth thot - The Red Shirts had answer, (though April 10 is a deadly encounter, no deadline is set as well, till it is seen to be fair for all alike). The most sticky points, is deadlock deadly deal.
Whatever Thais grand plan for amnesty. Bold initiative backup by powerful army and police is needed. it has to be seen just as fair and approve by parliament and broadcast to it citizens alike, after all leaders that lead and damaged by "yellow" on the two airports and at parliament blockaded is scout free and some even benefit, those few politicians who will certainly benefit at will.

The opposition "Red Shirts" has given a "clear answer"
Defiant "Red Shirt" opposition protesters vowed Monday to keep up their crippling rally in the Thai capital until the deputy premier surrenders to police over a deadly crackdown last mth.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaungsuban was in charge of security when troops launched an unsuccessful operation on April 10 to clear an area of the capital, leaving 25 people dead and hundreds injured in fierce street clashes. (Meanwhile in his lastest move, he said) "We have to seek cooperation from everybody to return Thailand to peace," one of Abhisit's deputies, Suthep Thaugsuban, told reporters Friday. "Everybody must avoid violence and help solve the problem."

"The government should not ask us to hurry up because what we are thinking about is how to make this country a strong constitutional monarchy," as Thai PM's offer puts pressure on protestersWhile rival pro-establishment "Yellow Shirts" - have rejected Abhisit's roadmap election plan and called on the prime minister to resign. (Not a single one is charge and throw into jail for blockaded and making a mess of two Bangkok's airports in 2008 in their protests)
teeth53 thot - Abigshit has just been throw at Thai DPM, instead of Abhisit. Since the red had agree to commit itself to peace proposal for a Nov 14, 2010 election by Thais PM. The red also dun trust one of d five stated term.
The situation has already reached beyond the point of no return...
It's milestone history in the making...

In deed. The Thais Premier had taken the bold initiative to set a date as of dated NOV 14th, the election day, Only a charismatic bold leader who show negotiating / organising skill need to see the wisdom, backup by the powerful army and police forces. Who'll it be rewrite into history ?.
There is hope (Key part is to contain) as fragmentation politic benefit only faction politic, fractioning of each into a deeper bloodly diversive population at large.
No matter how tough and how stressful will be, it has to continue it good work of keeping fractional warring war lord at bay.
D state is into a very troublesome precursor to problem. err...deadly problem.
If not end story is sad, very sad when almost none is willingly to negotiate, fearing, giving way to those few politicians at will, who will certainly benefit at will.

BANGKOK - Thailand's prime minister said Monday he was ready to hold elections in November to end a tense stand-off with opposition protesters, subject to certain conditions under his reconciliation roadmap.
The five-point plan calls for respect for the monarchy, greater social equality, an impartial media, an independent probe into the current political crisis and a debate on the need for constitutional reform.
"I'm convinced that it will not take long to achieve national reconciliation and when we achieve national reconciliation the government is ready to hold elections on November 14," said Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
"I think this is the best solution at the current time," he said in a nationally televised address.

Thailand's cabinet was set for an emergency meeting Sunday on a long-running standoff with anti-govt "Red Shirts" in Bangkok after a warning it could deteriorate into an "undeclared civil war."
Thailand is reeling from its worst political violence in almost two decades in the capital, where 27 people have died and nearly 1,000 have been injured in a series of clashes, but the government has rejected suggestions of outside mediation.

An interim or provisional government should be formed to help settle the long-running political conflict, Puea Thai chairman Chavalit Yongchaiyudh said at a news conference at party headquarters on Friday.
Term of the provisional administration could range from six months to two years, Gen Chavalit said.
Representatives from all parties should help run the country by serving as cabinet ministers and members of various committees to be set up by the government, he added.

The PAD's Blockade of Government House and Parliament
by Rahat on Tue Oct 07, 2008 1:02 pm
In my opinion, PAD claims and the opposition party that there was an excessive use of force is nothing short of ludicrous. How can we allow Thailand to be ruled by these gangsters who can go around closing whatever areas they want?, when the PAD first took over government house then perhaps we wouldnt be in the mayhem we are in today. PAD obviously wants for there to be blood and conflict. Well now there is, and they've obviously asked for it. The opposition party, being the opportunists that they are, should consider themselves in the shoes of the government. These anarchists must be brought to justice, law-abiding Thai will not put up with the PAD who will take the welfare of this country hostage for their own political agenda.

Oh and they ran over the police using a vehicle injuring many

"We have told them it was an inappropriate move. We truly apologise for any inconvenience caused. Some were very concerned the hospital was harbouring troops," Weng Tojirakarn told Reuters.
The incursion raised concerns about how much control the leaders have over their followers, especially the "red shirt guards" in charge of security at the sprawling protest site.
The hospital is near the Silom business district, scene of deadly clashes on April 22. It evacuated some patients from late Thursday but hospital director Adisorn Patradul said it would remain open and many in-patients who cannot be moved would stay.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban acknowledged on Thursday it would be hard to forcibly eject the red shirts because many women and children are among them.
A rival protest group, 300 "yellow shirts," went to Abhisit Vejjajiva's office on Thursday to demand military action to disperse the red shirts. "The red shirts have created a state within a state and they are getting away with it with impunity,"
Suriyasai Katasila said, spokesman for the group, which closed down Bangkok's main airport for a week in 2008 and helped bring down a pro-Thaksin government. Please noted: No one has been prosecuted for the airport blockade.
Hopes of a deal to end the violence faded last weekend after British-born, Oxford-educated Abhisit rejected a red shirt proposal for an election in three months, saying he would not negotiate in the face of threats.
The red shirts oppose what they say is the unelected royalist elite that controls Thailand and broadly backs Thaksin, who was toppled in a coup in 2006 but before that built up a following among the poor through rural development and welfare policies.
