Gee, just declared 1.25cts dividend, full yr 2.75cts.. At current price, PTC is quite attractive with 12% returns on dividends.

Vic,

What do you think of the DBS Vickers Research Report just released yesterday... any comment? I think their FY2009F did not include the future lease income projection..

Vic,

Agreed with your assesment. PTC is a good long-term portfolio esp in volatile market like this.. and it has good dividends payout so far.. I bet full-year profit 2007 is going to be solid and expecting another final dividend payout of 1-2 cts...

Besides, they have a wild card on-hand (property lease re-curring income for next 15 years)...  rumours they may be cashing it out to REITs... If it materialise , accordingly to your analysis, this is going to be a Big Deal ! We shall see....

Shadow,

Just saw the agreement. Buying the land was a good deal. 1st make 5m profit on half of the land sold. The rest, got it leased to coy called Varco which is in the oil and gas.

Converted to sq feet, total land area is 194,680 sq feet.

At lower end of $2 per sq feet, total rental revenue is about $390k. 12 mths rev is about $4.7m

At upper end of $2.50, 12mth rev is about $5.65m.

At long term lease of $3, 12mth rev could be about $6.5m

If building cost is say $20 per sq feet, that's about $39m depreciated over the lease period, that's about $2.6m

profit from lease accrued from FY 2009 could range from $2.1m to $3.9m

That's pretty significant.. about 35% of its annual profit.

NTA currently 22c so at 1X book value, back to 1st quater pricing once again......... good for long term accuulation once again.

Anyone analyse the latest impact on the lease agreement construction contract by PTCL?According to anonymous source, PTC ripped a hefty amount from this 15 years lease agreement not disclosed here and REITs are eyeing on that pie.  . (it's for them to know and for us to find out !).. a good bet in medium to long-term play i supposed... my two cents worth... any comment at this price?

That's a good one! Much humour is needed to lighted up the weekend after a bloody day.

Looks like time to stock up potatoes at low prices again.

Well, well, well, looks like this potato is not being celebrated as yet - it should do well next year!

UN launches International Year of the Potato 2008

by Paola Messana Wed Oct 17, 11:35 PM ET

NEW YORK (AFP) - The United Nations on Thursday officially launches "International Year of the Potato 2008," an initiative mocked in private by some diplomats but enabling governments to raise much-needed funds for agricultural research.

The move to "increase awareness of the importance of the potato as a food in developing nations" was proposed by the UN's Rome-based Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and adopted by the General Assembly in 2005.

Throughout 2008, the International Year of the Potato (IYP) will seek to underline the humble spud's role in improving food security and poverty alleviation.

Tony,

barring external shocks in the next 2 mths,  seeing the accumulation of counters to boom as per pattern of blue chip play.....then mid-cap than small-cap/undervalue play & it's usually pretty sudden like Ah Poh once again.....holding on.....must be newsflow driven. Maybe launch of their remaining industrial land sale or units. Hopefully units, highly profitable. Hup, CEI also on the verge of doing well. Action Asia, still in accumulation mode.
