it will not fail, but i wonder how genting get so much money to build the IR. I though everyone is confident to this stake, but refer to the right and mother share, it's not...

hi,

just my 2 cents for all newbies who arent familiar with rights issues.
i don't see any point buying the rights issue from the market since gap is only 2 cents.

current rights price 0.025 current mother price 0.645,  if you exercise your rights you are paying 0.025 + 0.6 + commission for rights.

you are much better off buying the mother issue once the date for selling the rights is over as most likely
there will be a bit more selling immediately after people get new mother shares from rights shares.

good luck

Hi ahyi123,

Thanks for the explanation, it's clearer now.

I have another concern regarding the genting right. If I buy the right at 0.015 as indicate below, and I need to purchase the right 0.60 to convert to mother share, so where should I purchase the right 0.60? Through ATM also? Through security firm?

 Gen Int   0.645 -0.015 -2.3 27,265 6,460 0.640 0.645 852 0.655 0.640 SERV
   Gen Int R   0.015 -0.020 -57.1 112,634 23,415 0.015 0.020 26,879 0.030 0.015 SERV
   Gen Int R600   0.015 -0.015 -50.0 613 30 0.015 0.020 196 0.030 0.015 SERV

Can you please explain what the different between Gen Int R and Gen Int R600? which one should I buy + 0.60 to convert to mother share?

please advice. thanks...

Spider,

You can apply the Genting Int right at the bank via ATM.  take note of the followings:-

1) You have to pay for the rights issue under your dad's saving account.

2) Follow the instruction in the ATM.  You need to key in the no of right issue to 3000 (If that is the number of rights that is indicated in your ARE form which is yellow in colour), excess rights to 0 (unless the right issue shares are odd lots and you want to buy the balance to round off to the nearest thousand. Example : Right issue 1600 shares, you can buy another 400 shares as excess rights.) and the security number.  You can find the security number in the ARE form that your dad received.

3) Retain the print out from the ATM machine.

4) If you pay through ATM, you don't need to send the ARE form back.

spider, why don't you try going to ATM machine. I understand that you will be asked to key in your (dad) CDP account no when applying for shares be it IPOs or right shares.. then it is linked. I maybe wrong, but that's how my CDP account was so called linked up to my bank account.

Tiandi, I assume you are vested. Do you think it is worth subscribing to the rights shares at 60c? thanks.
