DMG downgrades Osim (O23.SG) to Neutral from Buy as the stock has breached its $1.66 target price.
Says the shares, based on yesterday’s $1.70 close, are now worth 18.5x FY11 P/E, the average multiple from 2006-2008. Says any re-rating will hinge on whether sales from new outlets and profit margins beat expectations.
Adds, the massage-chair maker’s plan to list in Taiwan is positive as the sale of treasury shares will generate $76 million, which, together with its $54 million net cash, could mean bumper dividends or imply acquisition activity.
The shares are down 3.5% at $1.64.

OSIM International: Update on proposed TDR issue
Summary: OSIM International (OSIM) announced this morning that it has submitted an application to the relevant authorities for the offering and listing of 85m TDR units, at a temporary indicative offer price of NT$20.80 for each TDR unit. Each TDR unit represents 0.5 ordinary shares of OSIM. Up to 42.5m ordinary shares (or S$1.80 equivalent for each ordinary share) could be issued out of its treasury on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). Based on this temporary indicative offer price, the estimated proceeds will be NT$1.77b (S$76m equivalent). This will be used to develop OSIM’s specialty retail outlets for personal care and sports-related products so as to expand the scale of its business in China . OSIM’s share price has surged 15.6% to S$1.70 since it first made the announcement for the proposed TDR listing on 1 Dec. We believe this is largely due to the increased brand awareness it will bring as well as the non-dilutive impact on existing shareholders. For now, we put our BUYrating and S$1.52 fair value estimate under review. (Wong Teck Ching Andy)
