watermelon, dun worry so much ok? sometimes if u dont know what to trade yet then best not to overtrade. heard this saying before, a troubled trader is a trader in trouble.
myself i lost abit in gensp last mth now recouped after shaking hands with tomato. Lol gave away some and recvd back ;) Now i'm learning how to protect profits while its there.
i'm not a trader just invest in cash periodically, had learnt the hard way that having stop loss and sell at market price features are vital in a brokerage's platform. Initially when i signed up with poems which i now know it sucks big time, hadn't thought of testing its platform is vital but it IS. The basic membership has none of the features abv and it was especially hard to execute a sell order amidst a falling knife. Anyhw i'll upgrade to get protrader access soon to set targets for exit shld the tables turn. The 3mth access costs $80, its quite pricey does anyone uses it? can feedback pls?

You have to know your macro-economics and micro-economics.
Macro-economics : Interest rate, inflation, asset bubbles, currency fluctuations, GDP, economic growth. international trade, import-export.
Micro (stock market related): company earnings (income statement, balance sheet), profitability prospects.
Right now macro environment is saying bearish. but micro prospects for GenSp bullish.
So there is a divergence here. Long run, macro-economics wins, short-run company earnings wins.
Right now, this situation is telling me the game plan is to go for short-term trading (buy fast, sell fast), because long-term environment is not stable and may turn bearish, if governments decide to be implement protectionist policies and block QE2.
Not possible for me teach to Economics in this forum, you may want to take a short course on that, or come for my course next year.

Yeah right sold all on Monday when it hit 2.27 ... and some others as well ...
Market look a bit uncertain at the moment ...

When trading against a macro bearish environment, think short-term trading. When trading against a macro bullish environment, mid to long-term is ok. Too much uncertainties now about QE2, policies to block capital inflow, high inflation in Singapore. Play safe.

Just keep in mind, people will be very eager to take profit once there is profit to be taken. The only short-term news that may boost GenSp price is LVS announcement tonight. Once if there is a price surge tomorrow for GenSp, I am selling 80% of my holdings. Because I know the BBs will do the same. I will come back in again closer to Nov 12. |
