Whether it's a good counter to hold at $1.20 or not, depends on how the price move then and the market condition during that time. Difficult to tell now.

If I'm that uncle, I would sell all by now. However, his strategy is still much better than many.

I know someone who brought Genting SP at $2.00 using his emergency fund and behind his wife's back

or cut loss at the closest instant and re-game your position when it has plunged further.  if i would not have cut Genting-sp at 1.570, i would have been worse off now that it is wobbly even at 1.540.  but seriously if you ask me whether to short now... i'm not sure it will not go down to 1.440 in a weeks time. but it may go back to 1.640 too if DOW shoots up.  never say NEVER!

HAHAHAHA!!!!

Sifu has your good reasons.

Generally speaking, today's market is unlike that in the past...

Whereas in the past there were smart people like Nicolas Darvas (averaging up)

and Warren Buffet (averaging down), today, the market is a totally different animal.

One simply have to grab one's profits before it vanishes into thin air the next moment... Smiley

no master iP, my 1.72, 1.665 were short positions. i'm tempted to close them by longing but i hate that feeling when after covering my shorts, the price keep on dropping (and seeing my profits flow away).

HAHAHAHAH... the market is nobody's guess. just like this morning, i did a small long position @ 1.580 and target to let go if it reach 1.595 for some quick cash for this weekend's dimsum with family, but alas the market has spoken and it  tanked to  1.560 HAHAHAHAH... anyway i stop loss at $1.570.

Such is the beauty (or beast)  of the market

Sorry to hear that. If you wanted to short today's gsp, u should have done it at the start when the market was at 1.6.  Generally today is a down day, after Euro major dump and US 4% drop in almost all their index, its hard to believe that the Asia market can be left undisturbed. But after lunch, I wont recommend anything,  cause that is a little  too late for that decision for a Friday (Weekend's market can be very fickle minded). Good luck

during lunch my friend asked me.  why not short  genting-sp  down now? it seems like this bugger will tank to sub 1.50.  which makes 1.570 looks like it still got lots of juicy meat?

yes, thats what i thought when i shorted genting-sp at 1.610 during last week's plunge. then what happened?  it surged up to 1.71 the next day!!!!    FARK!!!!!

not exactly fun when out of the  sudden  the paper-loss runs  creeped into  the 5-digit sum.  HAHAHAAHAH!!!!!

so, to those who likes to  profound that they know how to read the 'celestial' chart and anticipate the groovy moves e.g.  " market oversold, time to enter.... caveat emptor" .

i say to you. C0WDUNG!!!!  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

If you say you are a novice, I am surprised

that you  have been averaging down a couple of times.

A novice must never, never play the averaging game.

Averaging is only for very rich people eg. Warren Buffet.

For the rest of us, it is not realistic to act like a Warren Buffet... lol...

Looks like the Euro market is going down again today,  pulling the GlobalDow further down by 10 pts.  If no good news pop on weekend,  it's going to be another good session for those that looking to short.

i have multiple short positions from 1.720, 1.665, 1.610.

but looking at the 'celestial' charts, it  looks set to  bounce up. thats why i have covered some this morning, albeit a bit quick on the hands (1.595). at least it covered my 1.610 shorts. i m a novice and was too worried for a sudden big-swallow by lim familee back to 1.61 &   above.

but nvm. i've just long some at 1.580. will let go at 1.595.

Genting SP is no longer a good counter to hold.

It's in the down trend already.

Even if it bounce up, I don't see it bounce very high.

But, I'm expecting it to fall further.

I'm not surprise to see it hitting $1.20 by year end
