analysis is useless without the guts and confidence to act upon it.
is not i timid, but in a net loss position, quite hard to take risk personally.
esp when the last risk i took MIT, set me back a lot.
if i trading with profits, i will be in a better situation to take more risk.
i guess that is human mentality, own money will not want to take much risk.
but profits, easy come easy go. lol

ya. i made the mistake of selling genting sp too early. i realised if i had just kept the 7 lots i got at 2.08, i would have paper profits of close to 2k + happiness now. however i in out in out in out, which gave me a payout of only 500+ excitement therefore the utility of 500+ excitement < 2k + happiness so i decided to keep hk until results release. then depending on the US dollar, i might continue holding it. after calculation, as long as the dollar remains above USD 1.2 to SGD 1, i will profit at the price level above .515. i need it to move by 30cents to fully recoup my losses. or to wack in my entire savings and pray it goes up by another 10 cents after SP release results. quite a headache deciding how much to risk to recoup my losses. quite keen to enter AGR tmr provided it does not gap up. RSI for AGR trending down, good volume with doji. uncertainty about the results. with fast stochactics going down. if tmr black in the mid day, i 60% jump in!

Yeah thats where the research comes in.
And the best part? There are usually analysts who predict for you the results in advance.
They are right 80% of the time.
bladez87 ( Date: 09-Nov-2010 20:53) Posted:
it is double edge sword. no difference from big small in casino. if results good gap up if poor gap down. only thing is you know the dice odds, but for results, with proper research can minimise chances of getting into a poor results co.

Those are the exit signals for normal circumstances. But when a stock nears its results announcement date, it behaves differently. And by now you notice a stock with good results will gap-up the next day. So there can be an exception here, if you are playing for gap-up after results. |

Yes its the same for everyone. I find that candlestick analysis is the best for looking for exit signals. After uptrend, upon first Doji candle or black candle. Just play safe and sell. Or if you notice the white candles getting smaller and smaller, can just set a trailing stop loss and the system will sell it off when the price slides back by a couple of cents from the highest price. Of course have to consider news such as analyst upgrades / downgrades or other news, which can cause sudden surge in price like today for Cosco. |

if you cant decide to buy, at most you lose opportunity cost
if you cant decide to sell, you might lose your capital.
