I am used to it and I gotta say it is quite easy to use.
They give a HUGE range of CFD for you to use. It is a big plus, and their margin requirement is less than that of Poems. I use for US stocks and margin requirement is only 10%. Other platform is 20% I believe.
For the plaotform, the commands are good, easy to use and fool-proof. I like the technical analysis part too. Sorry at work now so I can not do a screenshot for you -.-.
They offer three platform, mobiletrade, webtrade and their own program that u need to download to use
And NO, im not advertising for them =P it is just my humble opinion.
A HUGE DOWN point is that Saxo account is not linked with CDP hence u can not buy IPOs.

You can short with traditional shares. But must cover back at end of day. |

You can't long/short by purchasing stocks as you can only buy and anticipate it to go up
However, you can do long/short with CFD (Contract for difference). You dont OWN the stock but you can buy the contract to anticipate for any changes.
Go long (buy) on CFD if you think stock price goes up
Go short (sell) on CFD if you think stock price goes down
With CFD, you can earn whichever way the market goes - IF YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES =) |

Singapore’s Straits Times Index slipped 0.8% to 3,287.99 at the midday-trading break, the biggest drop since Oct. 27. More than twice as many stocks fell as advanced in the benchmark equity index of 30 companies.
Shares on the measure trade at an average 16 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.4 times at the beginning of the year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The following shares were among the most active in the market. Noble Group (NOBL SP) gained 2.4% to $2.18. The Singapore-based commodity supplier backed by China’s sovereign wealth fund said third-quarter profit rose 19% to US$157.2 million ($202.5 million) from a year earlier. Singapore Airlines (SIA SP), the world’s second- largest carrier by market value, fell 0.7% to $16.20. The company took three Airbus SAS A380s out of service to replace Rolls-Royce jet engines after a similar unit exploded on a Qantas Airways aircraft last week. StarHub (STH SP) declined 0.4% to $2.79. Singapore’s second-largest phone company said third-quarter net profit fell 3.7% to $82 million from a year earlier. Wilmar International WIL SP) slumped 5.4% to $6.51. The world’s biggest palm-oil trader said third-quarter net income was US$259.5 million, compared with US$653 million a year earlier. Analysts had expected a profit of US$448.7 million, according to three estimates compiled by Bloomberg. |

Those who find using stop-losses inelegant might want to consider using hedging strategy instead.
For example, last night Dow Jones went down 60 points.
When you wake up in the morning, you decide that today STI has a chance of going bearish.
At 9am, If you have 100 lots in your long account, you can now key in short order for 100 lots in your short account.
At the end of the bear run, close out your short position.
You will have exactly the same amount of capital before and after the bear run, minus some commission.
More aggressive traders can short more than their long positions to make some money during bear day. |

Yes. I will try this again when one day in the future I ever become more pro. If not like last time so scary. Haha.

Well most of it is bought at 0.665, so still in profit zone. Anyway, read bladez and my posts below, analysis on Indo Agri and Wilmar. We are still bullish on Gar.
Gaecia ( Date: 10-Nov-2010 12:53) Posted:
Okay like that...Gar and Olam also need to dump to run, then why we bought it in the first place? my olam was forced sold at stop so that cannot be helped its the min. profit i wish to take.
Wilmar at $6.x is overweight especially after yesterday's acquisition news it shot up, isn't that right? bladez made a remark it was so good yest. That increase frm acquisition news is priced into today's correction together with backlustre earnings.
Indo-agri is not this sector's market leader and not a heavy weight stock. Also reported poor earnings, it dived more than 6% within the 1st hr after 10am and recovered towards lunch trade break. By day's end it recovered to fall just 1+% despite poor earnings showing. Bullish your memory doesn't fail u.
Back to GoldenAgri, its post earning's trading pattern is anybody's guesswork. What is your hunch? If its dumped to $0.6 odd, i'll pick it up but that's just me. ;) |

okie 430pm. Cos normally the contras who didnt pay up will force sell at 3+ ma. Then shortist normally cover back 4.45ish

Might want to wait till 4.30 and see what happens to STI, Europe and Dow futures. We don't want to risk another STI down day tomorrow. Otherwise, GenSp may decide to plunge another 8 to 10 cents. |
