This is a 65/35 chance.

65% chance positive news.

35% chance negative news.

Those who can't take risks, better bail out.

Those who feel GAR is too risky can reduce or sell while still in profit position.

Genting Singapore off 3.4%; focus on 3Q results

Genting Singapore (G13.SG) down 3.4% at $2.27 as investors book gains after yesterday’s run-up to multi-year $2.35 high while waiting for tomorrow’s 3Q.

Results will determine whether 83.6% rally since gaming group’s return to profitability in 2Q10 is justified. Most analysts expect sequential decline from 2Q10’s $396.5 million net profit as rival Marina Bay Sands casino-resort expected to have grabbed some gaming market share from Resorts World Sentosa.

“With only two quarters of financial results in the bag, we hope the upcoming 3Q10 results will shed more light on a sustainable run rate for Genting Singapore,” says Credit Suisse, which has Outperform call but retains $1.68 target pending results; “4Q is typically a peak period for tourism due to year-end school holidays and festivities, and we expect Genting Singapore to be a prime beneficiary.”

Near-term support at $2.10 (Oct. 27 low).

Starhub rated 'hold' by Phillip Securities

Phillip Securities Research in a Nov 10 research report says: "StarHub reported 3Q10 operating revenue of $552.3 million (+2.8% y-o-y) and net profit of $82.0 million (-3.7% y-o- y). Revenue was 2.9% higher than our estimate of $536.7 million while net profit was 41.7% better than our estimate of $57.9 million.

"StarHub expects the operating revenue growth to be in the low single digit range. It also announced an interim dividend of $0.05 per ordinary share for 3Q10, which was the same as 3Q09. We believe that StarHub will continue to face stiff competition from SingTel and M1 in the local telecommunications market.

"Moreover, we think that its annual dividend payout of $0.20 per ordinary share is unsustainable given that its expected earnings per share of $0.153, $0.165 and $0.180 in FY2010E, FY2011E and FY2012E respectively are below $0.20. Due to the better-than-expected earnings and the rollover of our estimates to FY2011E, its fair value is $2.63 based on the discounted cash flow model. MAINTAIN HOLD."

JPMorgan raises SIA target to $20 from $17

JPMorgan raises Singapore Airlines (C6L.SG) target to $20.00 from $17.00 on rollover to 1.6X December 2011 P/BV. Keeps at Overweight. Trims FY11-13 earnings estimates by around 11%, mainly to factor in higher average fuel prices.

“Even then, we expect SIA to return to peak cycle earnings in FY12 with an ROE of 14%.” Says valuations attractive at only 10% above break-up value (estimates potential ‘liquidation’ value of SIA around $15/share) also trading at 25% discount to Asian airline sector average on adjusted EV/EBITDAR basis despite its above sector average margins.

Shares down 0.6% at $16.22.
