Chi-East, the ”dark pool” joint venture between Nomura’s (8604.T) Chi-X and Singapore Exchange (SGXL.SI), said on Thursday it has started providing a platform for brokers to trade large blocks of shares.
“Chi-East will begin with Singapore, Hong Kong and Japanese shares before moving to other Asian markets such as Australia,” a Chi-East spokeswoman said.
Dark pools, so named because they represent large pools of "buy" and "sell" orders not visible to regular investors, are relatively new to Asia but operate quite freely and match billions of dollars in stock transactions each day in the West.
Chi-East, which is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, has, however, committed to providing full post-trade price and volume transparency through data providers. Brokers that have committed to participating on Chi-East include Instinet, Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE), Morgan Stanley (MS.N), Nomura and UBS (UBSN.VX), Chi-East said. |

Daiwa raises Indofood Agri Resources (5JS.SG) peer multiple-based target to $2.77 vs $2.31, due to combination of peers’ increased PERs for 2011, revised 2011 net profit forecast. Raises 2011E, 2012E net profit by 13.6%, 12.9%, respectively, due to revisions to CPO-price forecasts, which rise to US$1,000($1,286) /US$1,100/US$1,100 for 2010/2011/2012, respectively (from US$850/US$950/US$950). Adds, 2010, 2011 forecasts below consensus as some may have not taken into account time delay between when palm commodity prices rose, when they are reflected in revenue. Keeps stock at Hold: “while we think that IndoAgri should be a key financial beneficiary if CPO prices rise in the future, we are concerned about its PER on our 2011 EPS forecast (16.7X), which assumes already some CPO price inflation.” Prefers stocks like Golden Agri Resources (E5H.SG), rated Buy, First Resources (EB5.SG) rated Outperform, which trade currently at lower 2011 PERs. |

European markets edge higher in early trading
By Simon KennedyLONDON (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets moved higher in early trading Thursday following gains for Wall Street in the previous session and some well-received results from European blue chip companies. Among stocks on the move, shares in U.K. telecoms company BT Group (UK:BT.A 164.00, +4.60, +2.89%) gained 2.9% in London after the company lifted its guidance, while Germany's Siemens (DE:SIE 84.08, +0.12, +0.14%)(SI 114.91, -1.73, -1.48%) rose 1.7% in Frankfurt after reporting strong order intake. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index (UK:UKX 5,837, +19.71, +0.34%) rose 0.2% to 5,829.57, the French CAC 40 index (FR:PX1 3,899, +10.66, +0.27%) gained 0.1% at 3,892.75 and the German DAX 30 index (DX:DAX 6,745, +25.29, +0.38%) added 0.3% at 6,741.74.
GAR is under the category of "meet estimates" , so still can hold if still got the holding power .. if that's what u mean

This is my little reflection on post announcement trading strategy. Comments welcome.  - Beat estimates Buy more, as analyst will revise TP upwards (see OCBC and Noble) - Fall below estimates Close asap, can also "SHORT" as there will be a sharp drop (see Wilmar and Indo) - Meet estimates still observing how GAR behaves.
