The closing price will have to depend on the mood of the market beast...

which no one can predict or foresee.

Our (traders) duty is only to tackle the market beast's unpredictable moves... Smiley

Noble Group upgraded to 'buy' by DBS

DBS Vickers Securities in a Nov 10 research report says: "Noble booked 3Q10 net profit of US$157.2 million (+19% y-o-y), bringing 9M10 earnings to US$358.1 million (-24% y-o-y) - representing 82% of our initial full year forecast, therefore ahead of our expectations.

"3Q10 revenue of US$14,938 million (+79% y-o-y, 16% q-o-q) was a record, as energy segment revenue rose 23% q-o-q to US$9.8 billion while agriculture revenue jumped 26% to US$3.5 billion. 3Q10 SA&O expenses came in lower than expected and accounted for only 37% of gross profit (vs. our expectation of 50%).

"Noble reported total debt of US$5.9 billion as at the end of Sep10 (+US$1.8 billion higher q-o-q), having issued senior notes and revolving letter of credit. To account for this, lower SA&O, and higher-than-expected energy contribution, we revised our FY2010F-2012F earnings by 5-10%, which resulted in a higher DCF valuation of $2.60, representing 17.9x FY11F PE. UPGRADE TO BUY."

Genting Singapore off 6.1%; 3Q10 below view: Morgan Stanley

Genting Singapore (G13.SG) gaps down at open, last off 6.1% at 2-week low of $2.14, as sequential fall in 3Q10 earnings dampens expectations for continued robust growth, says Dow Jones.

“Genting Singapore reported earnings and EBITDA lower than expectations,” says Morgan Stanley, which has Equalweight call with $2.00 target. Net profit at $187.8 million vs 2Q10’s $396.5 million, while EBITDA at $346.5 million vs $513.9 million.

“While we maintain our long-term positive view of the Singapore gaming market’s growth prospects, especially with the potential introduction of junket operators, the growth is likely to be gradual,” says JPMorgan; downgrades to Neutral from Overweight but ups target to $2.00 from $1.55 after rolling over valuation.

Bounce off early low of $2.07 suggests downside from current levels limited.

That person who is still sulking over the loss from GenSp would have lost the chance to profit from buying the lows.

Look at the rebound of Noble and OCBC.

I can sell both now at profit.

BullishTempo      ( Date: 12-Nov-2010 10:48) Posted:

Thanks iPunter,

Emotional control is necessary for a trader.

Imagine somebody who lost a few thousand from GenSp and decides to give it up and go cry it out and sulk over it for days.

I have lost 80% of my capital before and climb back out from it. That 80% is a 5-figure sum of money.

So I am able to take a lost of few thousand with a shrug and quickly get back to business.

At the moment, my OCBC has already almost covered my losses from GenSp.

U need to pay finance charges because you dont have the shares in the first place, thats why u need to borrow (short) . hope this helps you.

Singapore (GS) reported its 3Q10 results last evening.

Revenue, which excludes the discontinued UK operations, hit

S$744m versus S$12.1m in 3Q09; it was spot on our S$745m

forecast, driven by Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) which

contributed S$731.8m. 3Q10 EBITDA came in at S$345.6m

(within 3% of our estimate) and was a sharp turnaround from

negative S$21.6m in 3Q09; GS was also able to hold its margin

at a commendable 46.5% (though lower than 51.2% in 1H10),

despite a full quarter of competition from Marina Bay Sands.

Net profit (including discontinued operations) came in at

S$187.8m; core net profit at S$182.1m. For 9M10, revenue

hit S$1964.8m, meeting 77.0% of our FY10 estimate, while

net profit came in at S$565.6m, or 72.0% of our full-year
