USA?
Nah, I just need quiet time away from the market.
2 weeks to recharge myself before I get ready for Q4.
Q4 should be a more profitable quarter than Q3 when we see QE2 money flushed into the local market.

You need to see successful examples to convince yourself that there are successful investors around. My father made 1/2 million over 30 years. Bought our 5-room flat with cash, no loans. My brother made $300,000 investing in a private company, which was later listed. The shares he bought become inflated by 12 times when the company went listed. Maybe its my family influence, and so I know there is a way to invest that brings about success. One losing trade does not mean the end of the world. Overall, 3rd quarter is still very profitable. If you are a trader, making 6 to 7 winning trades vs 3 to 4 losing trades is all it takes. It can even be just one big winning trade vs 8 to 9 small losing trades. All it matters is, you should be in net gain position at the end of the month. Losing one battle, does not mean losing the entire war. Its all in the mindset. |

FYI:
From iOCBC
Genting Singapore: 3Q10 results mostly within expectations
Summary: Genting Singapore (GS) reported its 3Q10 results last evening. Revenue, which excludes the discontinued UK operations, hit S$744.0m versus S$12.1m in 3Q09. Net profit (including discontinued operations) came in at S$187.8m; core net profit at S$182.1m. For 9M10, revenue hit S$1964.8m, meeting 77.0% of our FY10 estimate, while net profit came in at S$565.6m, or 72.0% of our full-year forecast (both adjusted for discontinued operations). Going forward, GS expects the fourth quarter to perform better than the third, citing its appropriate offering for the family and vacation crowd. Management concurs that junkets could get their licenses in early 2011 and boost the gaming market further. But for now, we are maintaining our FY10 and FY11 estimates. As we are raising our long-term FCF rate from 2% to 2.5%, this also bumps up our DCF-fair value from S$2.38 to S$2.53. Maintain BUY. (Carey Wong)

FYI:
From CIMBGK
Singapore shares ended higher,
with the STI adding 4.2pts (+0.1%) to 3,293.4. Total volume traded came
in at 2.0bn shares valued at S$2.2bn with winners leading losers 269 to
238. Local market could open weaker, given negative opening among regional
bourses. Genting (Outperform, TP S$2.70) may see some
selling pressure today on the qoq drop in earnings. However, we see any
weakness as buying opportunity.

it's not like i have insider news or whatsoever.. sometimes i get it right before the news appears only because the stock is acting in a certain way that the news may come out.. the BB's already know the news way before hand.. u think they pay 10k a month for analyst and reports and have 100s of them and they dunno? they manipulate it in such a way that the trend makes it damn obvious that something is gonna happen ... The banks don't want you to know this because for someone to earn.. others has to lose... and guess who is it gonna be?? but because we don't see that trned and we think bb's wants us to win too.. guess who is the ultimate loser? YOU!! money is fixed.. 1 trillion in the world is gonna remain 1 trillion till the feds print more money.. so that 1 trillion is passing from people to people.... and in order for the big bank to get somemore.. u have to lose... that's why despite all the news like .. BUY.. STRONG .. etc... it's for you guys to start buying after the BB's has already accumulated... and sell it to you :D let you all go fight it out urself.. the main aim is for you to BUY and catch onto the trend even the BUY rating comes out or the SELL rating is released. That comes with experience and time management and research ..
Lawyers and doctors spend years even to think of earning a 6 figure annual income...how much longer for traders who stand to earn so so so much more? Do your homework .. and don't pray.. Hope.. greed. Fear .. Ignorance.. those are the pitfalls of a trader.
Good day all.

hey i'm back. whoa really horror movie in fast action, anyone who wants to go long today better go look up long term and last 5 day chart. Clearly i'm not early enough to short so jus sit out d day.
tomato u must be kidding, i didn't struck a speck of gold this Q3. You're a juicy candidate to stand-in for BT. Lol! Anyway one has to learn for his own journey. Before lunch when gsp turned dwn again to 2.14 i sold off at 1 cent loss watever i'd bot in the morning to free up capital. To me If gensp makes a few more days' of black candles, how many black candles can i catch and pay up in cash? better wait for the bottom formation
LoL ok, understood.
I guess students from SMU are more financially savvy as well? SMU gives good financial education I believe.
Good to know your portfolio has increased by 300% and your friends have made over 300k.
So all it takes is knowledge, experience and skills.
All the best in your investing

hey bullish .. i'm not bearish neither am i a headless chicken running about.. i'm just saying that people needs to know what they are doing and their game plan... it's not like you can just buy or sell base on market predicitons.. i have never ever to give up investing or speculating.. neither have i ever said that it's negative or a downside.. im just telling people to not average down as of the moment yet and wait for it to stablize and for a confirmation sign before going in once again... Averaging down now is suicide cause there's no confimration of bottom yet...
Also, i have quite alot of respect for you and your tips as well as arguments... i'm in smu and my friends have made over 300k - 400k in 3 years investing.. i'm close to over 300% increase in my portfolio as well... i'm just telling the people here to wait for confirmation and not base solely on tips or analyst ratings.. do their own research... and do their own charting.... because by the time the bb come out with report u have time lag.. and u miss the boat.. plan ahead..
Anyway that aside, genting price drop below MA20 already.. reversal should be in place after the G-20 and market consolidation... Mid of bollingerband and MA20 the same level as of yesterday 11/11/10 ... today it fell below MA20.... meaning to say if market correction is over and price climb, can average down and buy up on monday or tuesday as it will slowly climb back to the level of the MA20 and peak again.. as long as it is a higher high and higher lows.. it should be fine base on investing. I'm just trying to tell those who are already in deep shit buying at 2.28 or 2.3 and now thinking of averaging down... don't do it yet.. wait for CONFIRMATION and not hope....
That aside.. i hope to talk to you more about shares and investing as i'm only 21 years old and have been in the market for only 4 years as compared to many old veterans here. I've said once again.. sorry for spamming your thread and i hardly post alot.. it's just i've been reading genting threads lately and i know how painful it must be for those people who bought so high and see it fall ... and do stupid things in desperation :D cheerios.

The warning was given two weeks ago and this source happened to be very accurate.
but alas we have been blinded by greed and lust.
Meantime dun touch, today is Friday.
i believe today extraordinary volume has forced a lot of punter to sell,
those contra players may press on to sell next week so be patience but I am still holding on 180 before considering buying.
Force selling and margin call will come next week.
PAtience is the game of stock investment , different from casino playinig --instant cash reward and greed

From reliable sources, VIP tables has seen dramatically lower visitors since Q3 started.
A lot of Whale kana bitten. So the Q3 results may not be as rosy as expected.
But may be supported by mainland gamblers or tourist as there were a lot of activiites eg F1
So the 12 Nov results may be a disappointment due to the high expectation.
Hence I will wait for retreat at $2 before mounting an attack so that at least kana ambush wont be that bad. |
