Morning forumer!!! haha..
all early birds!!!!
Cheers!
I think he could be referring to GE IPO next week, likely to boost the US index, expected price to go up as demand at current moment is higher than supply.
market speculation price is already 2-3 dollars higher than IPO.

Your post suggests you are a still new.
If you are a newbie, I suggest you don't play any shorting at all.
Because shorting is only good for sophisticated traders with years experience.
I strongly suggest you only play long. Playing long means to buy stocks.
But since buying stocks is must also a form of betting, you must treat it as betting.
Before you can bet successfully, you must learn some simple technical analysis.
But you don't need to be a genius in it. Newbies must put education as their top priority.
Because newbies usually let their urge to make big money become their top priority,
they don't bother about other priorities at all.
For a start, I would suggest you attend BT's coaching sessions and take it from there.
BT has a good heart and I have confidence he will give you good guidance.
But after you have learned the principles, the rest will depend on your own style...

@blade87 think u need to find a mentor that suits ur style of investing/trading, follow his/her trait closely..think of what will they do for this moment etc..
u can read from books..but books only give u history record..the thing is how u gona predict the next step and ur probability of winning..i'm not a pro, but i follow closely to a mentor..follow too many will only confuse u..like u learn driving, like u get source from internet..too many info and different methods..follow 1 mentor that suits u, and be very focus on their method used..try to copy and paste to ur memory..when u adapt..or comfortable with the type of investing/trading..it will makes u money..may be alot may be decent amount...learn to earn hundreds then thousands..is the process and experience that counts..dont take money too hard...else when u get blind..it would be hard for u to gain back..make ur plan though saying is easier.
e.g. if BT trading's style suits u may be u can buy him a coffee and learn from him.or pay abit fee to learn..
Usually i will post something don't make sense but this is a post that base on my past experience, hope it helps u because it helped me.
Cheers!
eh blade..u have more money than me,..hmm..btw..u got all gent share? gsp or gent hk?

Rabbit, may i ask what kind of major stock offering is that?
And result in no share dilution? Whenever Goldman and Citibank had stock offerings in the past and depending on sale size => major share dilution. GS and C shareholders dumped like no tmr, it dragged down broad market indexes.
Don't mind can u copy & paste the hyperlink where you'd read the source frm? Thank you

What is the Key Driver of US inflation ?
First of All, I didn't say there will be US inflation.
However, National Inflation Association of US did so. The following article dated on 5th Nov 2010.
http://inflation.us/foodpriceprojections.html
"The National Inflation Association today announced the release of its report about NIA's projections of future U.S. food price increases due to the massive monetary inflation being created by the Federal Reserve's $600 billion quantitative easing. This report was written by NIA's President Gerard Adams, who believes food inflation will take over in 2011 as America's greatest crisis. According to Mr. Adams, making mortgage payments will soon be the last thing on the minds of all Americans. We currently have a currency crisis that could soon turn into hyperinflation and a complete societal collapse."
Shouldn't there be Deflation instead ? I don't know How the deflation will happen in China at this point?
What is the Key Driver of China inflation ?
Shouldn't China's highest exchange rate todate BLOCK all inflation ?
Yes I think China Government is working hard on blocking inflation.

China's inflation rate jumped more than expected in October - with prices up 4.4% on the year.
That is nearly 1.5% above the government's target and the highest level in over two years. The data increases pressure on the central bank to further raise the cost of borrowing and allow the Yuan to strengthen at a faster pace - but both moves could put the brakes on manufacturers and the wider economy.
Duncan Innes Kerr from the Economist Intelligence Unit says that food prices are helping to push inflation higher.
