Everything will settle at the stock market where to play and how to win. Reminds me of a recent HK movie... the situation is familiar.

Indofood May Bid for Rest of China Minzhong Amid Glaucus Attack

PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, the Indonesian noodle maker, may bid for the rest of China Minzhong Food Corp. (MINZ) after a slump in the vegetable processor?s shares following a report by short-seller Glaucus Research Group.

Putian, China-based Minzhong received a letter from Indofood saying an offer may be made today, according to a statement from Minzhong. Indofood doubled its stake in Minzhong this year to 29 percent, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Minzhong tumbled 48 percent on Aug,. 26, the most since its April 2010 share sale in Singapore, taking its market value to S$347 million ($272 million) after Glaucus questioned the company?s accounts in a report. The company last night denied the allegations, describing them as going beyond fair comment.

The statements by Glaucus, which has an office in Newport Beach, California, were made with the sole objective of driving down the company?s share price and gaining from the decline, Minzhong said yesterday.

Jakarta-based Indofood said last week it?s comfortable with its investment. Indofood conducted due diligence before making its investment, Director Thomas Tjhie said Aug. 26, adding he had spoken to Minzhong?s chief financial officer about the Glaucus report.

Only 655 Mil shares issued. If majority shareholders unwilling to sell at low price, short sellers in limbo and will have to buy up to cover.

The whole idea of Indofood buying is to kill the shortist and increased the market share. When investor regain the confidences, all the securities fund be it retailer will start to follow in where the price will move higher.

I believe they are plotting how much do they need to offer for glaucus and all the shortist to buy back - dig their own grave.

Or might be it is part of the plan for Indo and ask Glaucus Research to provide help to lower down the price.    Both win -win, get low and sell high.

Cup noodles from Indofood ?

Aberdeen123      ( Date: 01-Sep-2013 22:58) Posted:

Strangely, I find the release of  CMZ response  report  was a very calculated one.Look like what some have said is to buy time so that Glaucus will not have sufficient time to response  for all to  study  in time for the 1st  trading after the halt. This is to stablize the share px.

Looking at the scale of the report I do not  think  it requires  2 and 1/2 day duration to come up with.Besides the picture did not come with date/time stamped and marjority of the pictures seemed taken from  IPO catelogue time. The factory space  looked so new and sparsely. Some of machinery pics looked so clean and new like for demo purposes  only.Only the  production line on cup noodles was acceptable.

brunica      ( Date: 01-Sep-2013 21:30) Posted:

Yes maybe you are right, they did in purpose to reply so late today , then they have time to sell their shares  tomorrow before Glaucus respond to their announcement..

Good I can sell at good price and then short sel

Skali Indofood offer $1.00 another conglomerate counter-offer $1.20 like F& N saga.

Investors sitting on holding will be laughing their way to the bank.
