I also thought commodities will hike up in war crisis... Thought I was wrong. Gold went up yesterday due to the war issue, but silver went down.

For tomato.
Anyway in times of war, economics and history tells of prolonged hyperinflation in all hard assets and commodities namely food (agriculture), oil, resource metals, precious metals gold and silver spiked like in early 1980s. Whereas currencies will devaluate (to the shitters). pun but this is the truth. |

Actual war time, equals hyperinflation always remember that. Money will not fetch much, currency devaluation and deminished purchasing power. Yesterday was knee jerking reaction to war rumors not yet escalated to full scale.
This past year Silver (way) outperformed gold as a hedge for USD, yesterday USD Index (EOD) climbed 0.96 on flight to safety. Silver did not climb yesterday because USD went up and broad market was crest fallen, it is afterall an industrial metal subject to market conditions. Normally when gold goes up, silver being more leveraged moves more to play catch up (and conversely so on the way down). Why? Gold is making new historical highs, silver however hasn't peaked because the all time high was US$50 per troy ounce in the early 80s. Look at spot metal prices this year you'll understand what i mean.

Genting might trend sideways in a tight range (depends on STI and macro) or bullish reversal, can be either 2 scenarios. Consider if sideways mvt and u go contra, will be caught or not? |

Gaecia, you so imaginative... I keep thinking my noble contra down liao coz they keep saying war commodities will be hit hard. Then this morning 1.98....... Luckily after that bounced up can sell. Whew.

Today's up could be fuel by month-end window dressing. Don't get you hope up yet because once window dressing is over, STI may fall.
