DO your visitors from japan Visited G13 and try their luck?

the fall last week was partly becoz of newspapers reports of tourists numbers falling for q3 (past already) but recent reports are tourists numbers are up becoz of the recent floods in bangkok, tourists bound for BKK are all diverted to SG. happy days.
this is anecdotally true, i have a few visitors from japan this week, i cant find them a room ANYWHERE unless i m willing to pay over $400 for a std room. the tourists are back, that i believe!
those you bought last week at 1.5x after the results were released, must be laughing now. its up 1.62. |

there was a sell down after profit results because GSP increase its huge bad debt provisions and the market players are worried that it cannot collect those money or lacks the ability to collect those debts owed by the VVIPs especially those from CHINA ???
look likes they have to hire some strong debt collectors or learn a thing or two from the loan sharks ???
in any case, got profits better than no profits or loss....

I think tomorow we have a good show on GentingSP. Shortists verses others. Looking at the close of Europe and US, I think shortists will get a bashing.

Genting SP has 2 potential upsides.
- Junket approval early next year.
- Dolphin park along with the completion of phase 2 next year.
Profit now is 375m (considering the fact that they have to pay for construction etc. which is costly) we should see a further upside in profits once construction of phase 2 is completed. Don't forget MBS is fully constructed so they don't have to pay for construction costs, so the comparison is unfair without taking into account this fact.
Whether it is EU problems or whatever, historical trends have always come to pass and the bottoming is seen in october. Any further downside is against historical trends, and risk for downside is definitely way higher than upside for now. Not a call to buy or sell, that's for you to decide. However, I'm bullish for this counter. We should see it trend upwards in the next 3 months. |
