Yup, chase high and average up depending on when. Now not much good news around. No bullish signs. So not a good time. Especially for those who cannot afford to hold. I might be wrong though, I can't read charts to determine signals. Analysis from many sifus here really helps a lot.

Gaec is right...

On the other hand, in addition to those who like to buy on the rallies,

there are also many who add on to their positions (average up) during the rallies.

          a la Nicolas Darvas...

They reckon a stock that goes up will go soon go higher...

But no one can stop them.

After all, Darvas the professional dancer

did make a lot of money in those days... Smiley

Bladez hav u sorted out your thoughts on past misadventures?

Okay now...put on your smartie pants. Trade education simplified -> When u (want to) buy into a rally, you're effectively hoping for a next higher rally to sell into (granted it actually happens). Calculate your upside. Otherwise you will just throw in the towel right into the next downtrend for losses. Review your trade horizon & trade personality, how much time you hav for a trade to be on your side.

Gee..truly super scared. After reading so much into these news postings, leaves me in high tension. Lol

i chased low on Fri sembmarine 4.81 when it recovered towards major support in the last hr. My aim is no good, didn't take on at the lowest point but also not my intention to. Will see how theory pans out in live practice range, will expect another short black candle or doji otherwise its to the exit door.

zzzz better use the wkend to think x 3

China has been working to keep tensions between North and South Korea from escalating following a Northern artillery attack on the South on Tuesday.

China's foreign minister Yang Jiechi has met North Korea's ambassador and spoken on the phone to his US and South Korean counterparts.

Officials say China's priority is to avoid a recurrence of Tuesday's attack on Yeonpyeong island which killed four people.

Tomorrow the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington, with its 75 planes and crew of 6,000, will take part in massive naval war games.

North Korea has warned this will push the region to the brink of war and is threatening to launch fresh attacks if it is sufficiently provoked.

But it is playing a dangerous game. This week it killed four South Koreans in an artillery attack and in March it torpedoed a South Korean naval ship killing 46 sailors.

In what could be a crucial development, state-owned newspapers in China have blamed North Korea for this week's attack; one even editorialised that North Korea could be a country without a future.

The North may have gone too far this time. But if it keeps resorting to military strikes out of the blue it will eventually lead to a more brutal response from Seoul.

Adding nuclear weapons into the mix, the deadly standoff is well short of being resolved.

China has also voiced its displeasure at the participation of a United States aircraft carrier battle group in tomorrow's war games.

But South Korea and its American allies are keen to put on a show of strength.

The North yesterday started firing fresh volleys of artillery two days ahead of the war games, sending South Korean residents who remain on Yeonpyeong Island running to air raid shelters.

The sound of fresh rounds of artillery emanating from North Korea led to fears of a fresh attack.

But the South Korean Government has said that this seemed to be a training exercise and that no shells landed on its territory.

Tensions high

US commander in South Korea, General Walter Sharp, has called on North Korea to stop its attacks.

"What I've seen here is basically North Korea attacked this island, which is a clear violation of the armistice agreement," he said.

"We and the United Nations command will investigate this completely and will call on North Korea to stop any future attacks."

The hope is that Pyongyang's warning is just aggressive rhetoric from the North, but the South is bolstering its troop numbers in border regions just in case.

The South Korean government of Lee Myungbak has been criticised, even by some in its own party, for not responding to this week's artillery attack with enough force.

This is despite the fact that it fired 80 shells back across the border at the time. There has been no information about what damage this caused in the North.

South Korea's former defence minister Kim Yae-yong defended the decision not to call an airstrike on the North's artillery positions that fired on Yeonpyong, saying he did not want to risk starting a full-scale war.

He has now resigned, accepting full responsibility for what has been described as an inadequate response.

Crude palm oil futures on Malaysia’s derivatives exchange reversed some earlier losses but still ended slightly lower as trade remained choppy in the absence of fresh cues.

The benchmark February contract on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives exchange ended MYR02 lower at MYR3,274 a metric ton after trading in a MYR3,233-MYR3,281/ton range.

Higher palm oil export estimates by cargo surveyors Intertek Agri Services and SGS (Malaysia) Bhd. released yesterday, China’s plan to raise margin requirement on palm oil and widen contracts’ trading limits as well as its measures to curb inflationary pressures have already been factored in, but tensions in Korea could likely boost CPO prices, said an executive at a commodities brokerage in Kuala Lumpur.

A trader in Singapore said more clarity on palm oil prices is expected once the CBOT opens tonight, though it will operate for only half a session.

Intertek and SGS will also release data on Malaysia’s palm oil output and exports Nov. 30, which will provide cues.

Intertek’s last data release pegged Nov. 1-25 palm oil output at 1.32 million tons, up 19% on month, while SGS put the figure at 1.36 million tons, up 25%. If the data released on Nov. 30 is similar to previous estimates then prices will be supported, he said.

The market is also waiting for cues from the Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and Price Outlook 2010 that will be held in Bali next week, where many eminent analysts will likely speak, he added.

However, fundamentals remain strong, he said.

Supply disruptions are likely due to heavy rains in major producing palm growing areas such as Johor in Malaysia and Kalimantan in Indonesia as the lean season approaches. Palm oil could possibly trade at a premium to soyoil if markets become purely supply-driven, he said.

Trade was thin today ahead of the weekend, said another trader in Singapore. Palm olein for April/May/June was traded at $1,057.50/ton and $1062.50 and July/August/September at $1,045/ton free on board Malaysian ports, said a physical market broker in Singapore.

Open interest on the BMD was 79,077 lots, versus 79,339 lots Thursday. One lot is equivalent to 25 tons.

A total of 12,214 lots of CPO were traded versus 20,047 lots Thursday.

SINGAPORE: Singapore's manufacturing output continued its double digit growth in October, boosted by the biomedical cluster.

The Economic Development Board (EDB) said manufacturing output increased 31 per cent on-year in October.

It said output of the biomedical cluster grew 107.3 per cent, bolstered by a 121.4 per cent gain in the pharmaceuticals segment. This gain was more than double the previous month's figure of 55.4 per cent.

EDB said the strong growth of the pharmaceutical segment was mainly due to a different production mix of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Excluding the biomedical cluster however, output rose just 14.2 per cent from a year earlier.
