Singapore expects visitor arrivals to hit a record of around 12 million this year, helped by the success of the city-state’s two multi-billion-dollar casinos, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Sunday.
He made the remarks in an address to members of the ruling People’s Action Party, Channel News Asia reported on Monday.
His comment indicates Singapore expects visitor arrivals this year will rise about 24% from last year’s 9.68 million.
Singapore legalised casinos in 2005 as part of a plan to double visitor arrivals to 17 million by 2015. Genting Singapore’s (GENS.SI) Resorts World at Sentosa opened its doors in February this year, while Las Vegas Sands’ (LVS.N) Marina Bay Sands began operations in late April. Singapore’s visitor arrivals in the year to September have totalled around 8.6 million. The figures do not include the thousands who cross over from Malaysia daily by land to work in the city-state. Tourism currently accounts for about 5-7% of Singapore’s economy but could grow to as much as 12% by 2015 based on government projections on visitor spending, economists have estimated. |

hey chill!, not gloat you la! waa lao say until like i want to see you dead. is just a friendly reminder, people here all know a lot of stuff, but when involved physically, our minds and emotions tend to take over our thoughts. is like the audience see clearer than those involved. what good will it do for me to see another person who lose money in the market. dont put me in such a bad light can? haha. good to see you are like BT, got plan before entry and don have a rubber band stop loss function like us people who lost.

Bladez, you're simply quoting wat I advised u before & using it against me to gloat. Free information & education for all knowing to enter sembmarine on Fri was wrong.
When i use cfd, its meant for very short term trades. When short term trend (1 day) is not in my favor, i will bail with 2-3 cents loss that was decided upon before entry. Sorry to disappoint u, I've not been caught dead. |

BT , urs very good leh, The Teacher Card . Its says usually a highly intelligent & ambitious person , highly creative & independent . Many are destined for great success & recognition.
Firewood , for both of us , its says many will find high recognition in their life but this usually comes in the later years. Very true hor, it says have a delicate health constitution . People in our lives that matter most , but it says we r good with $$ but not necessarily motivated by it , i don't really agree with good with $$ , but agree with not necessarily motivated by it , lol !! relax sis! you still in profit status good liao, as long as you not in net loss then can wait for better time lor.
someone said cash is also a position, knowing when to hold is impt also.
