think this kind of thing is actually quite common, it's just whether they get caught or not. if you ask me, it's more likely that someone reported him, o/w, i don't think MAS is that fast enough that they can track ppl. So many stocks: how to monitor all? Plus, the standard query/reply:
TH announced, SGX query:
"Do you know of any reasons to account for the sudden change in the price of your company?"
Company reply: "We know of no material information that leads to the sudden change."
Trading continues.

do not try to outsmart MAS or any gahmen body.......cosco likely go below 3.00 but again mayb not bcos mr. market has a mind of its own.
Actually what if he ask a few of his family members to instead instead? That would also be inside trading right? But whats the chance of him being caught?
How not to get caught? All transactions are recorded. It is a matter of time the system will trigger the deals. Anything transacted through electronic means can be traced.
stupid indeed... stupid to get caught.. not to inside trade
plse.. alot of peopleinside trade
as the saying go.. u can do anuything.. just dont get caught
Wah piang... financial controller. The fella should have known better than to do this.
MAS is very strict about all this things.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore Thu said it has punished a former executive of Cosco Corp for insider trading.
Teo Chuan Teck, who was the financial controller of Cosco, will have to pay a penalty of $320,000 to the regulator, MAS said in a statement.
It said that Teo purchased securities of Cosco on five occasions between Jan. 15 2007 and July 31, 2007, and his purchases included over-the-counter transactions in contracts for differences relating to the shares of Cosco.
Waiting to accumulate at $2.50?

if yangzhijiang can drop to lowest 0.78, cosco should drop to 2.50 too !
well said, but then, STI March low is about 2750++ too.. so, still got fat to kill..
When the shortists have finished destroying the other s shares, they will turn their attention to Cosco, still a lot of room to go down towards the mar/apr lows near $2.80, plenty of meat left!
HSBC starts Cosco at Neutral, on assumption bulk carrier order rate won't recover in near term; "given the escalating oversupply risks in the market, we expect further downward pressure on new contracting (for bulk carriers) to persist." Adds demanding valuation of market consensus not justified as orders are moderating, offshore business remains small; tips more competition for Cosco from shipyards in Korea, Vietnam, India.
Anaylst usually wrong, especially report from UBS, Citicorp, Meryill Lynch.....they are making losses also...
Alamak..down by 7 cents and you said it collapsed!?!

Cosco collaspe today....
Analyst was wrong.
That's why I do not look at fundamentals or ANALysts' reports. Technical Analysis is the way to go. Whatever fundamental news are all priced in the Technical Analysis.
"Citigroup Analyst say BUY but share price fall on Friday. How come so buay zhun... ???!"
Citigroup just restructure and needed money from Temasek to help it tide over Sub prime. Sub_prime is not over yet. There will be further write down for them
"Their time frame is very long as well" 10 to 20 years. Sounds familiar? So, do you take what they say at face value?
