Mdr bottom so heavy. Good news still no lifting of price.
mDR's unit MDR Myanmar has been appointed the aftermarket
service (AMS) provider for Nokia in Myanmar, shortly
after its partner Golden Myanmar Sea Company (GMS)
became Nokia's distributor. mDR set up MDR Myanmar in
January to grow its presence in the new market and is
working with GMS and Nokia to expand its distribution
channels and provide retail planning and support in the
Myanmar market.
Potential positive sentiment after the group announced that it has won a Nokia service deal in Myanmar. Recall its partner Golden Myanmar Sea Company (GMS) its Nokia' official s distributor in Myanmar, and mDR's unit MDR Myanmar has been appointed the after-market service (AMS) provider for the Finnish phone maker in the country. The grp will be providing consultancy and retail franchisee procurement services to GMS and together grow the Nokia distribution and retail channels, and provide the full suite of AMS services for Nokia products in the emerging market of Myanmar. Together with GMS, MDR aims to expand its distribution channels and provide retail planning and support for Nokia in the Myanmar market.
Come on! Long overdue!!
At least after for so long MDR made some moves, anticipating the day when it break it's 52weeks high! 0.021 was it? =D
wow...
This is a very very good news.
Just show how much effort and progression MDR is going through.
Thumbs up.
Mdr partner is GMS...if you know how big & influential their group is in Myanmar..do you think they will be happy with just 1-2 handphone shop in Myanmar? I expecting Mdr to annouce futher news...Samsung should be next as what Philip Eng have mentioned.

Most people in Myanmar are still poor and cant afford smartphones...basic or feature phone will be more popular and affordable. Nokia does well in emerging market like its biggest market India which  Nokia retains leadership at 26 percent.
Imagine 26 percent of 60 million population in Myanmar, its about 15million...3 times more then Singapore population.

Their shop in Yangon is opening next month so thats when they start business. Mdr are employing agreesively in Singapore and I believe they are planning to bring experience staff over to Myanmar. Their irst quarter staff cost almost double. They are also opening planining another shop in Mandalay. Nokia is popular in Myanmar therefore its good news they are back in after market service for them. I look forward to them getting Nokia after market service in Singapore when Nokia sales goes up again |

Just to share this information.Mdr's shop going to open next month, expect them to annouce service contract soon. Want buy better buy soon.I have noticed that Mdr's business partners like Be-well Co+STT,MTN+M1 & Singtel have not been successful in getting the telecomlicense in Myanmar. Does Mdr have any plans or chance to be afiliate or become an mobile retailer for Telenor,Ooredoo or local MPT?
mDR: We are still exploring the opportunities in Myanmar. We will make the relevant announcement(s) as and when there is any material development(s).

The initial plan for Mdr Myanmar is to provide after market sales service but we have not heard any news with regards to service right for major manufacturer. Is the negotiation still on-going or Mdr are unsuccessful in getting service contract.
mDR: We draw your attention to the announcement dated 4 June 2013 relating to the appointment of our business partner, Golden Myanmar Sea Co Ltd as a distributor of Nokia’s products in Myanmar (Available at  http://www.m-dr.com/doc/3503_Appointment_as_Distributor_of_Nokia_in_Myanmar.pdf).
As to the service contract(s), we will make the relevant announcement(s) as and when the contract(s) has been entered into.
Mdr's CEO Philip Eng have mentioned that Mdr have located a shop in Yangon which is under renovation. Any updates on the progress or when the shop will be in operation.
mDR: The shop in Yangon is still under renovation. It is expected to be in operation by the end of August 2013.

I will give it 2-3 years because thats the min time it needs to grow its Myanmar business.
Next year the warrant will expire and another 20 million cash for them to invest in.
Too bad no more spare cash to accumulate at this price.
