Mine is a share financing acc, whereby I do own the scripts and will be entitled to all corporate actions, unlike a CFD.

Under the share financing scheme, philip loan me some money to trade while the shares are used as collateral for the loan.

What I am wondering is will I be able to leveraged on higher amt via A share or C share.

PS... since your position needs to be liquidated on the due date, I suppose you will have to think about ensuring you still hold the shares when exercising those rights.

Best to call up a friendly POEMs rep on Monday to resolve this quickly... :)

I may be wrong about this.

As far I can make out, since your Rotary position with POEMS is a contract between you and POEMS, the postition itself has nothing to do with your rights entitlement, which is a separate matter.

But if you have excess funds in your margin account, I suppose it's just a matter of just withdrawing some cash from there to pay for your rights.

Just a simple question:

I have Rotary in my margin account. When the rights entitlement form is posted to me, will I be able to apply for excess rights using my available fund in my margin? ie can I borrow money from my margin to subscribe? Will it be treated as A shares or C shares? (I'm using POEMS)

rickytan,

From past experience, if you invested in cash, you will have a week or more to respond.

However, if its under CPF, your bank will send you the notice and usually you do not have much time. the bank takes a few days to send the offer to you and a few days to process the response.

normally is upfront deducted before pay the investor.

so IRAS may offset the credit against the income tax depending on the income bracket.

cng444,

Your decision to sell or keep till XA should be based on your outlook for this counter and not be predicated by some simple form filling.

When the time comes and you have difficulties with the form, I am sure members here will help you. All you need to do is give a shout here.
