This is
gonna be a long post and for my haters or people who are turned off by long
posts, please don?t bother reading.
In my ~8
months stay in sharejunction, I have actually matured a lot as an investor cum
trader and have learnt many things which I thought I would have never learnt. I
believe I started out as an arrogant and rude brat who unknowingly offended
many sifus as I advocate that buy and hold method and fundamental investing is
the best approach since it really worked for me after I lost a lot from contra
trading last time and it woke me up. I am not saying you buy and hold forever
for one needs to know clearly his intention of buying a stock, whether for
contra trading, trading, investing for capital gain or dividend yield,
speculation, etc? This also translates to knowing one?s time horizon, style,
strategy, capital etc? When your original intention of buying a stock has
failed, one can always sell. Nevertheless, I read many posts of different
people from different threads and I gained a lot of new insight and knowledge.
I realize there are actually many different ways of ?playing? stocks and
everyone has different purposes or roles here in the stock market. Lately, I
did more capital gain and short-term trading and even researched and come up
with my own technical indicators after consulting one technical trader coach. Still,
I only trade stocks which I can see value or at least, my own perceived value.
My ultimate goal is still to achieve financial freedom by having a portfolio
which consists 100% of good-dividend yield and undervalued stocks which I
mentioned in a thread here. Currently, around 40% of my funds are used for
capital gain purposes by investing short to mid-term on good undervalued and
fundamentally sound stocks, using my own technical indicators as an entry and exit
point.
I like
sharejunction because you get to see familiar members discussing their thoughts
and opinions about stocks and also their interaction with each other. Coming to
read is informative and sometimes also entertaining when you can see funny and
joking posts or pictures. From here, I also get to interact with many people
and also sifus for whom I have respect for. Then again, some members may think
I am bootlicking or trying to garner popularity. I am merely just being
grateful, with no intention of any sort. There are many other sincere members
or sifus for whom I also want to interact with, but I do not dare anymore,
especially when they or their followers think I am up to some agenda again.
As much as
I like reading, I also like to contribute and share my views. I normally don?t
just copy and paste information because I believe if people dig hard enough,
they can find these sources also. Precisely because this is a forum, I thought
it would always be good to share some personal views from retail investors, who
are more unbiased. I try my very best to be as sincere as possible, did my own
homework, fundamentally and technically and then share with everyone here. I am
definitely not saying I am correct, but at least it is just a view that can be
opened to discussion. Recently, for every post I post to my best effort, I
received thumbsdown for dunno whatever reason (lol). Frankly speaking, I hate
thumbsdown especially when it?s a genuine effort to contribute. I do not have
any agenda or intention, neither am I trying to prove I am a market fortune
teller or to gain popularity etc? All these just gets too tiring. It is akin to
when you sincerely put in your effort to produce a piece of work, your boss still
screw you up and give you an ?F? appraisal. The same feeling, if people know
what I mean.
I never
know since when also Vard Holdings thread become my house. I merely just like
to speak up and express my opinions for counters which have taken a beating,
and which I felt the sell-down was unfair. I did the same for China MinZhong
and get screwed again by some people there. I may appear sharp with words, but
that?s the least I want to be or become. Actually, I am just a 26 year old
chap, how many lots of Vard do people think I can own that I have to speak up
like that. Neither it is my company or I am a majority shareholder.
Nevertheless, whatever that I have to say about Vard I have already spoken. How
it?s price is going to move in the future I have no control. Of course for
sure, I hope it moves up.
Lastly,
people may question or even find it amusing why am I so uptight enough to write
such a long post. All the reasons are already given above. I am also a serious
person when it comes to doing things whether fitness or work, etc? for I am a
perfectionist. I don?t easily joke around, especially when in a shares forum
where people?s real money are involved.   And after writing such a long and chunky post,
members can more or less guess, I won?t come back again for I will throw my own
face away. This is also an affirmation for myself that whenever my hands itchy again,
I won?t log in to post.
Those
friends of mine who know my identity in real life sometimes question whether is
it because of my user nick in SJ here that portrays a proud and ?in-your-face?
kind of attitude. Let me decipher my nick, ? SF does not stand for anything to
do with shares but rather it stands for Street Fighter. A character called ?Guy?
is who I main and master. ?Rulez? is because I want to ?own? with him,
therefore, the nick SFGuyRulez.. Once again, am grateful to know all the nice
and friendly people here and wish everyone the best in their trades or
investments. November and December is coming and the festive season is here
soon. Wish everyone also a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year 2014 super early in advance.
Thanks and cheers!!
