I just checked it myself, NAV/Share for financial report in month of june 2009, figures as below :

 Noble : 73 Cents(USD) and Olam : 53 Cents (SGD)

Grandmaster89, I agree with you.

Put aside future earning. Olam is overpriced.

Good post,

Can you please provide the figure of Book Value/Share or NAV/Share?

Regards

Noble
EPS: 17.8 USD cents
Share Price: 2.30 SGD
PE: 9
Revenue: 36bil USD
Profit: 570mil USD
NAV: 2.2 bil USD

Olam
EPS: 10.8SGD cent
Share Price: 2.35
PE: 22
Revenue: 8b SGD
Profit: 167mil SGD
NAV: 640mil SGD

Olam is three times smaller in terms of revenue, profit and net asset yet its valuation is thrice that of Noble Group. In the coming weeks, Noble will either catch up to Olam valuation or Olam will drop to match Noble valuation.

While they are different coys with different backers, there is no justification for a threefold over-valuation...

This one is a very good counter for making money whatever you play short term

or long term.

I like it very much.

currently its' resistance  is 2.5, once it break , it will get to 2.7

be patient for it. I think this week or next week it will get to 2.7 when STI break

2700.

Olam International, one of the leading global integrated supply chain managers of agricultural products and food ingredients, says it intends to acquire 8,096 hectares of planted almond orchards and 40,825 mega litres of permanent water rights from Timbercorp which is being liquidated.

The total investment consideration is A$128 million ($158 million) in cash, which will be funded from a combination of internal accruals and existing credit facilities. The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Timbercorp was one of Australia’s leading agribusiness with interests in forestry and horticulture.

However, Timbercorp went into voluntary administration in early 2009.

Olam says the acquisition is in line with its recently announced corporate strategy which outlined a thrust towards upstream initiatives in plantations and farming, as well as midstream initiatives in value-added processing.

The upstream initiatives are targeted at specific product categories and geographies, which provide attractive returns.

Expansion into almond orchards in the US and Australia is amongst the key upstream initiatives identified in the corporate strategy.

This acquisition will make Olam Australia’s largest almond grower and place it amongst the top three almond growers globally. The transaction is expected to be earnings and value accretive from FY 2010.

Cleared at 2.38 as this burger does not have the power to stay above 2.45.

From today's 30 min chart before closing, the candlesticks formed a bearish engurf pattern for Monday trade, take profit first better than sorry, although daily chart looks OK.

If Monday price down to 2.34 (Fibo 38.2%) or soar up to 2.45 (Fibo 61.8%) will come back. Just for sharing, welcome comments wi;th diffferent views.
