A summary for today.
CO is not proportional to SPC price, there is another x factor, STI. SPC record high at 9.05 in Oct 07, then CO only around 90. By Mar 08, SPC dropped 29.7 % from high, likewise for Kepcorp -38.9% Citydev -47.5%, Genting -43.9, SIA -29.4% ,DBS -32.5 ETC loh.
I am not keen to buy SPC as capital to buy this is too big and returns might not be so attractive
so buy buy buy?

I hope you have not forgotton that last year was SPC's record year when oil price was at a high.

1) SPC refining does not use Brent crude 2) Crude up does not mean that product price did not go up. It all depends on demand and supply especially in Asia. 3) E&P cannot be ignored. One year ago you can do that but not this year. |

well SPC majority of the profits is from refining biz..
i hope u understand what refining biz is... if ur raw material in this case brent crude is high, ur end product would include the refining costs + ur raw material costs will go up... and u need to pass tis on to customers... if u can't pass it onto customers ya left with high cost raw material and ur margins will erode.. |

This should be more or less good news for SPC right?

Both got close relation, under one roof, Tarmasick, if AK not mistake, correct me if wrong, memory issue loh.
Refined oil is pegged to CO Future as well. Of course they can pass the operational cost as and when deems fit. IE CO up, kiosk pump follows and vice versa. It is not uncommon kiosk pump price increases few times per mth,if CO surge like no business. It may happen the other way round, but seems slim loh.
huh??

no power to cheong leh!
Agree with the vol trend. About the refining margin being tight with increasing crude price it seems to me that you are guessing.

i look at the vol trend that SPC has been displaying the last few weeks..don't seem that convincing for mi to say it is a sustainable... |

Sounds like you are guessing and hoping for SPC to drop further!

Boy, yah, BTW, do you still keeping your Contract Statement and Confirmation Note sent by CDP? Use these 2 doc for your following correspondance. Good luck.
Another thing, did you buy it under CPF?>>? If yes, then the div will go into your CPF investment acct. Call your investment bank for confirmation. Or wait for end of mth Investment Statement sent via by your investment bank. |
